Sam Neill, David Wenham, and Mick Molloy star in this noir-influenced crime comedy adapted for television by John Clarke, and following the wisecracking sleuth as he fends of mafia thugs and unwitting pawns while descending into the treacherous world of fresh produce and big business. When Herb Gardiner (Alan Hopgood) discovered a body in the number three chiller, the heavies at the Excellent meats began to fear that the incident might be cause for a political operator to make a stink with the local unions. But Minister For Ethic Affairs Angelo Agnelli (Molloy) has a valuable friend on his side in the form of freelance fixer Murray Whelan (Wenham). Later, after doing his best to impress the lovely Ayisha (Tamara Steele), Whelan takes a trip downtown to case out the situation at Excellent Meats. While it's all in a days work, things quickly shift from professional to personal after a lairy V8 tries to run the sleuth down. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
