This animated feature from Japan follows the adventures of Kongo, who -- after distinguishing himself in battle -- is captured by enemy warriors, who trap him within a huge rock. Five centuries later, Sanzoh the priest dreams of bringing peace and order back to his homeland and has learned of a secret text that could give him remarkable powers. Sanzoh's powers free Kongo from the rock, but now Kongo has to be persuaded to join Sanzoh in his struggle for freedom.
