Marillion: From Stoke Row to Ipanema - A Year in the Life
Initially comprised of guitarist Steve Rothery, bass player Doug Irvine, keyboardist Brian Jelliman and drummer Mick Pointer, prog rock/art rock band Marillion formed in 1979 in Aylesbury, England, and garnered a cult following over the ensuing decades. The band issued its debut EP, Script for a Jester's Tear, circa 1983, and has remained together ever since, despite frequent shifts in membership. The home video release, Marillion: From Stoke Row to Impanema: A Year in the Life June 1989-July 1990, consists of two parts: part one incorporates a series of live conversations with band members filmed over the course of the aforementioned year, interspersed with live performances shot during that period. Part two is a live on-stage concert, shot at the De Monfort Hall, Leicester, England, in 1990, in which the band sings twenty-four numbers. Songs from this concert include: "Easter," "Uninvited Guest," "Season's End," "Hooks in You," "Kayleigh," "Heart of Lothian," and "Incommunicato." ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
