Carlina Cruz stars as Maricela in this 60-minute TV drama. A 13-year-old illegal Salvadorian immigrant, Maricela moves in with her mother, a live-in maid. While avoiding the authorities, Maricela takes time to ponder the extreme cultural differences between her family and the middle-class brood for whom her mother works. Irene De Bari costars as Maricela's mom, while Linda Lavin plays Irene's social-climbing employer.
