Lyndon Brook

Lyndon Brook

British actor Lyndon Brook was the son of stage and film star Clive Brook and the brother of actress Faith Brook. Upon seeking his own theatrical career, Brook chose to downplay his distinguished lineage by changing his real name, Clive Brook Jr., to the less obvious Lyndon. He established himself in his profession without emphasizing his family ties, working steadily on stage, in films and on TV. Brook appeared in several Hollywood-financed British films, among them The Purple Plain (1954) (with Gregory Peck) and Song without End (1960) (an empty biopic of composer Franz Liszt, starring Dirk Bogarde). In 1973, Lyndon Brook starred in a TV adaptation of Aldous Huxley's Point Counter Point, one of several British productions televised on PBS' Masterpiece Theatre. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
