Life Beyond Earth
This PBS video, hosted by science writer Timothy Ferris, explores the research and activities of the scientific community as it searches for signs of extraterrestrial life. The video contains two volumes: Are We Alone? and Is Anybody Listening?. The first volume examines the case for life on other stars or planets by looking at the ingredients for the earth's evolutionary process. The second segment reports on the efforts of SETI, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, which attempts to contact other beings in the universe through radio transmissions. The video uses computer animation and interviews with numerous scientists from the academic and astrophysics community to make the case that we indeed may not be alone. ~ Rose of Sharon Winter, All Movie Guide
