Letters to the Wall: A Documentary on the Vietnam Wall Experience
Each year, hundreds of thousands of people visit "The Wall" -- the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. -- which features the names of 58,229 men and women who either lost their lives in the war, or are still classified as Missing in Action. Many of those visitors leave letters or other mementos for family members or loved ones whose names are etched in the stone of the Memorial. Letters to the Wall: A Documentary on the Vietnam Wall Experience follows the stories of several people who are still living with the memories of the those who were killed or went missing during the long and divisive Vietnam conflict. Avoiding politics, Letters to the Wall instead focuses on the collective loss of these survivors (and of the United States) as we all struggle to come to terms with the legacy of the Vietnam War. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
