Kings & Queens of England, Vol. 1: Dark Days of Anglo-Saxon Times to the Reign of Elizabeth I
This video uses character reenactments and period images to bring to life the years of the British monarchy that extended from the dark days of Anglo-Savon times to the magnificent reign of Queen Elizabeth I. Many still believe that her reign was the most successful one in British history. Elizabeth was born in 1533 to perhaps one of the first truly dysfunctional families. Her father was King Henry VIII and her mother was the lovely Anne Boleyn. For a variety of reasons, Henry later created false charges against Anne and had her executed. Two weeks later, after the Archbishop of Canterbury declared Henry's marriage to Anne Boleyn void, Henry married young Jane Seymour. After giving birth to Henry's son Edward, Jane died. Additional stories about how Elizabeth came to power are also included. ~ Elizabeth Smith, All Movie Guide
