In the past 70 years, there have been two American actors named John Larkin and, not surprisingly, their film credits have been frequently combined by historians. As opposed to John Larkin who starred on TV's The Edge of Night, African American supporting actor John Larkin appeared onscreen from 1930 to 1936. The last-named Larkin could usually be seen playing stableboys, janitors, porters and household servants or, as in the case of 1931's Alexander Hamilton, house slaves. Working right up to his death at the age of 63, John Larkin made his last appearance in MGM's The Great Ziegfeld. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
