Choreographer Jiri Kylian began his dance training at Prague National Theater's Ballet School when he was nine years old. In 1967, John Cranko, a major choreographer of the time and the director of the Stuttgart Ballet, presented Kylian with a dancer's contract and encouraged him to begin creating his own dance productions. Since this time, Kylian has been acknowledged as one of the world's foremost choreographers for his originality and innovation. This release showcases Jiri Kylian's unique style through a number of performances, including, "Petite Mort," with music by Mozart; "No More Play," with music by Webern; "Sweet Dreams" and "Sarabande," with music by Bach; "Falling Angels," with music by Reich; and "Six Dances," with music by Mozart. ~ Dennis Proctor, All Movie Guide
