Hershele
An educated European immigrant struggles to overcome culture clash in his impoverished new surroundings by offering violin lessons in this heartwarming tale of community from filmmaker Joel Silberg. From the moment Hershele moved into his new home it was obvious that he didn't fit in. In addition to receiving comparatively luxurious permanent housing that stands in stark contrast to his neighbor's humble trailers, the classical music that fills the air in Hershele's home couldn't be more different from the Eastern rhythms that fill the air in his new neighborhood. In hopes of opening the lines of communication and better relating to his new neighbors, Hershele begins offering violin lessons to the local children. When the parents of Hershele's students discover their children's remarkable talent, the community bands together to form an orchestra that will bring not only a community, but an entire nation together. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
