Great Adventurers: Ernest Shackleton - To the End of the Earth
Between 1914 and 1916, Ernest Shackleton attempted to lead a team across the mysterious land of Antarctica. This video tells the story of the numerous mishaps that occurred during this heroic journey. Following the terrible ordeal that occurred when their ship the Endurance became stuck in icy waters, the group was forced to travel over 850 miles in rough sea waters in a relatively small open boat. Upon finishing that leg of the journey, they hoped to eventually land on South Georgia Island. In this program, the courage of Shackleton and those traveling with him is recalled through historical records, photographs, and film footage. ~ Elizabeth Smith, All Movie Guide
