Frank Overton

Frank Overton

Broadway actor Frank Overton made a brace of films in 1950, then returned to the stage for nearly seven years. Seemingly born in a uniform, Overton was most often seen in such take-charge roles as Sheriff Tate in To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) and General Bogan in Fail Safe (1967). On TV, Overton played lawyer Frank Walsh on the long-running daytime drama The Guiding Light and Major Harvey Stovall on the nighttimer Twelve O'Clock High (1964-66). Frank Overton's final television appearance was as Elias Sandoval in This Side of Paradise, a 1967 episode of Star Trek. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
