Frank Brownlee

Frank Brownlee

In hundreds of films between 1911 and 1943, general purpose actor Frank Brownlee played everything from scruffy-looking miners to captains of industry and was often seen in Westerns. In the silent era, Brownlee was usually found on the wrong side of the law, playing characters with names like Klondyke Jim, Gold-Dust Barker, or "Scrub" Hazen, but he later played scores of military officers, guards, and especially lawmen. In the latter part of his career, Brownlee rarely enjoyed onscreen billing. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, All Movie Guide
