Based on a character from William Shakespeare's Henry IV, Falstaff is one of the most notable operas by 19th century Italian composer Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi. This release from Arthaus Musik features a 2001 performance of the work from the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence.
