Ray Romano and his television family bring one of the most popular situation comedies of the 1990s and 2000s to a close with this final episode. "The Series Finale" says goodbye to the Barone family -- sportswriter Ray (Romano), his wife Debra (Patricia Heaton), his brother Robert (Brad Garrett), Robert's wife Amy (Monica Horan), and meddling parents Marie (Doris Roberts) and Frank (Peter Boyle) -- on a warm note consistent with the tone of this long-running series. Ray goes into the hospital for minor surgery on his adenoids, and Debra, Robert, Amy, and Frank get a scare when for a moment Ray doesn't come out from under the anesthetic. Moments later, Ray is fine, and the others decide not to share this news with Ray or Marie, but it soon becomes obvious Debra isn't very good at keeping a secret.
