Edward J. Nugent

Edward J. Nugent

Eternally youthful Edward J. "Eddie" Nugent seemed most at home in collegiate roles. Nugent made his screen bow as wealthy young sprout Freddie in Our Dancing Daughters (1928), then went through much the same paces as Reggie in Our Modern Maidens (1929). He continued essaying bright, breezy characters with names like Tommy, Jackie, and Wally until retiring from films in 1937. One of Edward J. Nugent's more substantial talkie roles was Wint Selby in the 1936 filmization of Eugene O'Neill's Ah, Wilderness. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
