Drawing the Line: A Portrait of Keith Haring
This video chronicles the story of Keith Haring, whose brief but brilliant artistic career was cut short by his death at the age of 31 from AIDS. Haring was an obscure graffiti artist who drew chalk figures on posters at New York subway stops, and then went on to international acclaim as the artistic successor to pop artists Andy Warhol and Roy Lichenstein. Haring's kinetic art entered the mass culture with its appearance on skateboards. A portrait of this controversial artist is drawn in the film, with the help of interviews with gallery owners, international art critics, and friends. ~ Rose of Sharon Winter, All Movie Guide
