In a city threatened by flood, the Marine Environment Agency is the most prominent and prestigious police agency and Maia is on the fast track to beginning her training there. Things don't always work out as expected though, and with practically no explanation, Maia fails her entrance exams, is subsequently evicted from her home, then finds herself caught in the middle of a gunfight between two girls in bikinis. Things look like they couldn't get worse, but two women lend her help. They turn out to be members of a different police squad called Neres. Maia is invited to join their ranks and finds that police work doesn't come as easily as she thought it would.
