A featured designer who took the top prize on Project Runway: Season 2, mild-mannered Chloe Dao also won over the show's many viewers with her personable attitude and elegant creations. In 1979, Dao's family immigrated into America from Pakse, Laos, and upon viewing an episode of CNN's Style with Elsa Klensch, the ambitious youngster knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life. Later, after earning a patternmaking degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology, Dao honed her skills at Gregory Parkinson, Melinda Eng, and Finity. Upon departing from New York City in the summer of 2000, Dao opened her own Houston, TX, boutique, christened "Lot 8" after herself and her seven sisters. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
