Supplier Diversity

Blockbuster is committed to promoting diversity throughout all of our business activities, including procurement. As such, we are engaged in an active Supplier Diversity Program designed to promote sourcing and selection of qualified women and minority business enterprises (WMBEs), creating opportunities for mutually beneficial strategic relationships.

We work to seek out qualified WMBEs - partners that can add value to our supply chain and enhance our business performance - and award them business on a competitive basis. Additionally, we're committed to helping suppliers excel in the broader marketplace.

Specifically our goals are to:

  • Increase the number of WMBEs with which we work
  • Increase the percentage of overall Blockbuster spending with WMBEs
  • Increase the use of WMBE suppliers among our current vendors

Please refer to the information below for some additional information about how to access and support our Supplier Diversity Program.

WMBE Certification - Blockbuster requires that WMBEs seeking business opportunities through our Supplier Diversity Program confirm their business certification status. Blockbuster recognizes certification from two organizations, the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), or any of their regional affiliates. To be recognized as a WMBE, the business must be at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by U.S. citizens belonging to one or more of the following groups: African American, Hispanic American, Asian-Indian America, Asian-Pacific American, Native American or Women.
