There is so much to say about this movie, that space will not provide. It is one intelligent movie, in times when we seem to be spoonfed with CGI-short-attention-span theatrics. This movie placed Cameron Crowe in my top 5 all time best directors list. Outstanding performances from all, but especially Fugit, Crudup, Hudson, Hoffman and McDormand. Great soundtrack, from the greatest period in rock. This one is made to watch multiple times, and the enjoyment from it only increases with each viewing. If you like intelligent comedy and drama, this is one to buy. The work that went into Stillwater, and their songs, was truly an impressive effort. After thinking about the effort, I raised my rating from 4.5 to 5, which this film more than deserves. It has become one of all-time favorites.

I was expecting to be disappointed and didn't really want to see this movie. I am so glad I did. What an enjoyable, REAL movie. I didn't feel as if I was being shined on yet it wasn't so depressing that I wanted to jump off a roof. Showed both the good and bad of people and was indicative of the time. See this movie!

This was an okay movie, looked great in HD, most questionable content was at least tastefully done.

This is the best rock and roll movie to date. Though “One Trick Pony” comes close. Good luck in finding it on DVD. , I do know it was released on VHS. “The Last Waltz” was great, but that was a docudrama. So all we are left with is “Almost Famous,” and we should all be so unlucky as to see an absolute cinema gem. I was lucky enough to have lived through rock and rolls’ beginnings. Please trust me . . . this movie is dead on in its style and language . . . for me this movie was very nostalgic. But regardless of your age, this is a winner from minute one until the credits roll. “Stillwater” the fictional band is actually very good, which only adds to the movie wide appeal. When you get a great cast and a terrific story line you will usually, get a winner. This movie was so well produced that I was going to give the movie four and one half stars, but after going over my review, I am going to give this one the five stars it richly deserves
