Gino (Jean Servais) breaks out of jail and visits his friend Tony (Gary Lockwood) with a plan to rob an armored car. Although both men are motivated by greed, Tony says no to the risky proposition. When Gino is killed by some trigger-happy cops, Tony decides to avenge his death by going ahead with the robbery. Tony, a Vegas blackjack dealer, takes up with Ann (Elke Sommer), the private secretary of Shorsky (Lee J. Cobb), the owner of the armored-car company. With the help of some inside information from Ann, Tony and his henchmen pull off the heist, and the car seems to disappear in the desert. Treasury agent Douglas (Jack Palance) is called in to solve the mystery of the vanishing truck. Plenty of campy humor enlivens Antonio Margheriti's tame giallo thriller about murders at a prestigious girl's boarding school. Mark Damon (The Fall of the House of Usher) is the studly riding instructor having an affair with one of the students (Eleonora Bron), an heiress who is the killer's primary target. Michael Rennie (The Day the Earth Stood Still) investigates the crimes, as women are murdered in showers, thrown into pits of quicklime, and terrorized in aviaries. Other than copping out by featuring yet another overly obvious transvestite killer, it's not half bad. Originally titled La Furia di Ercole, Fury of Hercules stars Brad Harris as the mythical muscleman. Herc's ire is raised when he comes across the oppressed populace of a totalitarian country. The evil ruler seems to lead a charmed life: no one can touch him, but he can wreak plenty of havoc on those under his thumb. Hercules decides to put a stop to this, but it won't be easy: it never is. In some markets, Fury of Hercules was retitled Fury of Samson, necessitating a whole new English-language soundtrack. Samson (Brad Harris), the hero of the ancient Middle East, is taken prisoner along with his two friends near the city of Sulom -- this surprises him because the city was known to be friendly, and the queen, Mila (Irena Prosen), is a personal friend of his. He is more surprised when he learns -- after breaking out of the palace prison -- that Mila is no longer queen, having been replaced by the ambitious Romilda (Mara Berni) and the ruthless mercenary leader Warkala (Serge Gainsbourg). He survives various attempts by Romilda to drug him and sway him romantically, while the lady-in-waiting Jasmine (Brigitte Corey) works to secure Mila's release.
