A man who has made murder his business is thrown into the underbelly of an unfamiliar criminal world in this thriller. Jack Carter (Sylvester Stallone) is a ruthless hired killer whose bloody career in Los Angeles has driven a wedge between himself and his family in the Northwest. When he learns that his brother has died, he flies back to Seattle, hoping to pay his respects and reconnect with his relatives. At the funeral, his brother's wife, Gloria (Miranda Richardson), and her daughter, Doreen (Rachael Leigh Cook), are wary of Jack's attempts to reach out to them, but when he learns that his brother's death was no accident, Jack forms an uneasy alliance with Doreen to find the killers and deal out his own brand of justice. Get Carter is based on the novel Jack's Return Home by Ted Lewis, which was previously filmed in 1971 with Michael Caine as the gangster seeking revenge. Caine also appears in this remake as Cliff, the boss of Jack's late brother; Mickey Rourke, Alan Cumming, and Gretchen Mol also highlight the supporting cast. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

In this sequel to the earlier episode The Wedding Show, the Bundys' cousin Jimmy (a young Abraham Benrubi) finds out that someone else slept with his wife Janie on their wedding day. In desperation, Jimmy appeals to Bud (David Faustino) to help him find the guilty party--little suspecting that Bud himself is the very guy he seeks. This episode offers yet another variation on the Bundy Family Credo: "Lie, Sell Shoes, and Lie". ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
In this spoof of the theatrical feature Indecent Proposal, Wheel of Fortune's Vanna White guest stars as Al Bundy's former high school classmate Helen Granowitter. Now known to the World as zillionaire cosmetics executive "Coco", Helen is willing to pay Peg Bundy (Katey Sagal) half a million dollars in exchange for one night of unbridled passion with Al (Ed O'Neill)--which, as it turns out, includes eating cheese from his chin! This is the final episode of Married. . .With Children's seventh season. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
A family wedding is in the offing, and each of the Bundys has a different reaction. Al (Ed O'Neill) daydreams about sexual dalliances while waiting for the service to commence; Peg (Katey Sagal) drives herself crazy choosing a proper outfit; Kelly talks the other bridesmaids into wearing matching black-leather minidresses; and Bud (David Faustino) has a prenuptial fling with bride-to-be Janie (Joey Lauren Adams). According to the network publicity, this is the episode in which Bud loses his virginity--a remarkable biological feat, inasmuch as he had already surrendered his innocence in the earlier episode "Kids! Wadaya Gonna Do?" ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
"Get ready for a new generation in misery" was the ad tagline as Married. . .With Children launched its seventh season. In the tradition of the ill-fated "Oliver" on The Brady Bunch, Shane Sweet joins the regular cast in the role of a 5-year-old kid named Seven. Left on the Bundy doorstep by Peg's cousins Zemus (Bobcat Goldthwait) and Ida Mae (Linda Blair), the obnoxious Seven appeals to no one but Peg (Katey Sagal), whose maternal instincts are somewhat belatedly awakened! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Ed O'Neill (Al Bundy) is the only Married. . .With Children regular to appear in the series' 100th episode, which serves as the pilot for the spinoff series Top of the Heap. The focus is on Al Bundy's lifelong buddy Charlie Verducci (Joseph Bologna), Charlie's dimwitted son Vinnie (a pre-Friends Matt LeBlanc) and hot-to-trot Kathleen Morgan (Diana Bellamy). Plot complications include Charlie's efforts to land a wealthy bride for his son at a fundraiser, Vinnie's attempt to be champion boxer, and Al's revenge after losing his TV in a bet. Watch for future film favorite Renee Zellwegger in a minor role. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Peg (Katey Sagal) starts going to Marcy's (Amanda Bearse) dance hall, where her perennial partner is a handsome and elegant gentleman named Andy (Sam McMurray). Though Peg's hubby Al is cool with this, he doesn't quite know what to make of the news that Andy is married--to a "husband" named Pete! The latter character is played by Dan Castellaneta, one year into his long run as the voice of Homer Simpson. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Brandi Brandt, Playboy's Miss October of 1987, appears in this episode as a customer at the shoe store where Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill) works. Entranced by Ms. Brandt's--er--attributes--Al rushes home to look up her foldout in his treasured Playboy collection, handed down to him by his late father. Alas, Peg (Katey Sagal) has sold all the magazines in hopes of winning a lottery. It takes a Hamlet-like visit from the ghost of Al's dad to spur our hero into forcing Peg to do "the right thing" and retrieve the collection--but the price for this burst of macho proves to be mighty steep. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
The Tanner girls prepare to enter the world of show business when Danny (Bob Saget) agrees to tape a promo for his TV show at his home. Unfortunately, the director of the promo, an overambitious young woman named Ronnie (Belita Moreno), has some rather curious notions as to what will "sell" on television--and these include dressing Jesse (John Stamos) in drag and replacing baby Michelle with a "professional kid". And as if this wasn't enough of a crisis, Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and D.J. (Candace Cameron) are convinced that a noisy monster has invaded the house. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Series costar Cindy Williams plays a dual role in this episode. Meeting a handsome doctor named Paul McKenzie (Paul Tully), Shirley (Cindy Williams) agrees to go on a date with him, while Lenny (Michael McKean) and Squiggy (David L. Lander) act as babysitters for McKenzie's son Keith (Keith Mitchell). As the evening progresses, it becomes painfully clear to Shirley that Paul wanted to go out with her only because she resembles his ex-wife Diane--a point driven home when Diane herself (also Cindy Williams, albeit in a blonde wig) unexpectedly shows up. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Shirley (Cindy Williams) wants more than anything to join the Ladies Auxiliary Milwaukee Police (The "LAMPS")--and, as usual, Laverne (Penny Marhsall) comes along for the ride. In order to qualify for the force, the girls must pass a grueling obstacle course. Upping the stakes a bit is an arrogant police captain (Mickey Deems) who thinks Shirley is too weak to survive the course, and a handsome police officer (Bo Kaprall) on whom Laverne has a passionate crush. Meanwhile, those celebrated "auteurs" Lenny (Michael McKean) and Squiggy (David L. Lander) try their hand at moviemaking. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Shirley (Cindy Williams) is shocked when her boyfriend Carmine (Eddie Mekka) dumps her for another girl named Rhonda (Sande Lou Sanders). Vowing to raise her standards to impossible heights for all fututre romantic entanglements, Shirley succeeds only in becoming a boy-less recluse. In her efforts to bring Shirley out of her shell, Laverne invites her pal for a night out at a "friendly" neighborhood tavern--with painful results. Carol Ita White shows up in a different role than her usual Laverne and Shirley guise of snooty "Big Rosie" Greenbaum, while a young Mark Harmon also makes a guest appearance. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
After a mere two-month courtship, Laverne (Penny Marshall) has decided to marry her boyfriend Sal (Paul Sylvan) before he begins his Navy hitch. Everyone is delighted by the news of Laverne's upcoming nuptuals--everyone except Shirley (Cindy Williams), who has plenty to say on the subject during the wedding rehearsal. Happy Days' future "Al Devecchio" Al Molinaro plays the priest in this episode, which was originally scheduled to air on February 24, 1976. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Pat Carroll guest stars as Lily "Barb" Feeney, the overbearing, hyper-judgmental mother of Shirley Feeney (Cindy Williams). Descending upon Milwaukee like a bird of prey, Mrs. Feeney proceeds to find fault with everything her daughter "Dimples" does and everyone the girl knows. It is up to Shirley's no-nonsense roommate Laverne (Penny Marshall) to set Mrs. Feeney straight. This is the final episode of Laverne and Shirley's first season. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
