1972

Created by Jon Scoffield, the British comedy series Who Do You Do? offered a forum for several of the country's top impressionists. For the most part, imitations were confined to politicians and show-biz personalities, though a few athletes crept into the proceedings. Among the performers was the versatile Lance Percival, best known in America for his impersonations of Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr in the TV cartoon series The Beatles. Fifty-six half-hour episodes and one 45-minute special broadcast of Who Do You Do? were aired by London Weekend Television over a four-year period, beginning January 8, 1972. In 1995 the series was revived by Central Television for an additional 30 half-hour episodes, with Aidan J. Harvey serving as host. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
