Best-selling author Tom Clancy was executive producer of this made-for-TV spy thriller, which debuted on ABC in 1999. In the year 2005, the FBI has established a special division --"Netforce" -- to investigate crimes committed using the Internet. Agents Alex Michaels (Scott Bakula) and Steve Day (Kris Kristofferson) are put on the case when software genius Will Stiles (Judge Reinhold) designs a Web browser that allows him to hack into Netforce's computer system and take control of the entire Internet for his own purposes. The supporting cast includes Brian Dennehy, Joanna Going and C.C.H. Pounder. While this was originally billed as "Tom Clancy's Netforce," Clancy neither wrote the screenplay nor directed the film; Netforce was written by Lionel Chetwynd and helmed by Robert Lieberman. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

For once, a kid from the science club really does impress someone with his latest experiment, though it hardly works out the way he planned in this horror opus with a darkly comic undertow. Frank Stein (Matthew Lawrence) is a brilliant but geeky teenage outcast who wishes he could hang out with the cool kids and has a furious crush on Macy (Christine Lakin), the prettiest girl at school. Socially inept Frank isn't especially popular with his classmates, but there's one student who fares even worse -- Karl (Ryan Reynolds), a goth kid who is a magnet to bullies. One day, a gang of jocks decide to beat up Karl for fun, but they go too far and accidentally kill him. Frank, seeing an opportunity, decides to prove just how bright he is by bringing Karl back to life. Frank's peers are indeed impressed by the reanimated Karl (whose presence allows them to avoid murder charges), and Macy starts showing an encouraging interest in Frank, but there's one little problem -- Frank replaced Karl's damaged brain with one from a psychotic multiple murderer, and soon gloomy Karl is displaying an uncharacteristic thirst for violence. In this animated adaptation of the beloved fairy tale, Gunther (Judge Reinhold) is an ordinary guy whose life changes when he gets an extraordinary pet -- a cat that can walk and talk like a man (Michael York). With some prodding from the kitty, Gunther tries to make his dream a reality and win the heart of the beautiful Princess (Vivian Schilling). But first Gunther has to prove himself worthy by defeating the horrible Ogre (Kevin Dorsey). If it worked for Speed, it'll work for Runaway Car--or at least, that seems to have been the philosophy behind the making of this highly derivative made-for-TV actioner. Having suffered through an unusually rotten day on the job, timid nurse Jenny Todd (Nina Siesmaszko) heads to the garage where her 1978 Rambler Hornet is being repaired. Here she meets neurotic computer programmer Ed Lautner (Judge Reinhold), who asks her to give him a ride home. En route, Jenny picks up her baby nephew, as well as an unexpected hitchhiker: wiseguy skateboarder Dex Strang (Brian Hooks), whom Jenny may or may not have caused to suffer a nasty fall. Once the "dramatis personae" is established, the situation goes from bad to horrendous: The brakes jam, the door latches lock, the accelerator sticks at 100mph, and our wide-eyed heroine finds herself at the wheel of an out-of-control death machine, dangerously zooming through the busy city streets, barely avoiding crashes and collisions at every corner. The film's abundance of thrills, spills and impossible coincidences come to a climax of sorts when a police helicopter attempts to rescue Jenny's screaming nephew. This well-wrought made-for-TV comedy drama about a playboy divorced father who must take responsibility for his troubled daughter following his ex-wife's death is a great choice for those in need of warm-fuzzies and heart-tugging moments. With an inane but best-selling book, beaucoup bucks, a luxurious apartment and all the beautiful women he wants, pop psychologist Dr. Jason Fielder (Judge Reinhold) has been living the high life since his divorce. That all changes when his pre-pubescent daughter Sam (Stephi Lineberg) is forced upon him. Angry, alone and unable to deal with her grief, she proves a rebellious handful for Jason whose only solution is to try and buy her love with expensive gifts. In no time, both father and daughter have reached a seemingly insurmountable impasse. Fortunately, especially for Stephi, a winsome, wise guardian angel (Carol Kane) shows up to watch over her and help her reach out to her dad. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

Television sitcom star Tim Allen made his big screen debut with this light, family-friendly holiday comedy. Allen stars as Scott Calvin, the divorced dad of Charlie (Eric Lloyd). Scott is distressed to learn that his ex-wife Laura (Wendy Crewson) and Charlie's psychiatrist stepfather Neal (Judge Reinhold) have informed his son that there is no Santa Claus. While a sullen Charlie visits his dad on Christmas Eve, a noise on the roof brings them outside, where Scott startles the intruder, who tumbles from the roof. It turns out that there is a Santa after all, and Scott has just accidentally killed him. Because of a legal technicality known as "the Santa clause," Scott inherits the jolly old elf's job. As the next year passes, Scott rapidly gains weight, grows a white beard and meets the elf Bernard (David Krumholtz) -- who is the one who really runs the North Pole -- while Charlie regains his Christmas spirit. However, Neal becomes concerned about Scott's sudden change in appearance and insistence that he's Santa, and he forces him to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. In this awful black comedy, an aging bank robber tries to pull off one final caper. Things go awry and he ends up staying in a raunchy hotel. The crime is well-publicized, but fortunately the equally seedy residents there keep mum. Unfortunately, they are determined to literally nickel and dime him to death by making him pay dearly for even the smallest favors.
