When Murdoch crosses the line, disaster strikes and his two most prized snakes quickly find their way to the surface. Now, Hammett will team with Amanda on a mission to stop the slaughter before the snakes reach the city. But one of the snakes is pregnant with an entire litter of slithering giants, a fact which could bump mankind one notch down on the food chain should the baby snakes manage to escape and reproduce. Meanwhile, in Bucharest, schoolteacher Clémentine (Olivia Bonamy) climbs into her car and drives to the isolated mansion that she inhabits with partner Lucas (Michaël Cohen), not far from the site of the murders. Soon the couple overhears someone stealing their car, but a call to the police accomplishes little. Wesley Snipes stars in this pulse-pounding thriller set in the former Soviet Union. A once high-ranking Soviet military leader has resurfaced in Chechnya, where he has been consolidating his power with remarkable success. United States intelligence discovers he's been able to construct a thermonuclear weapon from materials scavenged from an abandoned nuclear power plant, and he and his soldiers have taken a handful of powerful citizens hostage. In hopes of preventing a global catastrophe, the military brings in Painter (Wesley Snipes), a special agent known as "the Marksman" for his talent in focusing in on the key elements of a crisis and resolving it. Painter and his crew attempt to get inside the nuclear plant-turned-terrorist base and rescue the hostages before U.S. forces begin staging a full-scale attack. But Painter's plan soon backfires when the military's operations don't go as planned, leaving him to wonder who set him up -- and why. Snuff-Movie, an outing by the celebrated music video-director-turned-horror maestro Bernard Rose (Paperhouse, Candyman), references both the Charles Manson/Sharon Tate murders and Michael Findlay's notorious grindhouse film Snuff (1974), in its tale of a slasher movie director's involvement with off-camera butchering. Jeroen Krabbé stars as Boris Arkadin, the popular creator of stomach-churning cinematic gore fests. His life takes a dark turn late one evening in 1975, when, after a private screening of his latest opus, a group of maniacs turn up at his mansion and slaughter all of the overnight guests -- including Boris' pregnant wife, Mary (Lisa Enos). Cut to the present day, in London. A young actress, Wendy (also played by Enos), decides to audition for one of Arkadin's films, and accepts the director's subsequent invitation (despite the admonitions of her boyfriend, Andy) to stay at the Arkadin mansion overnight. Soon, Andy is wracked with horror to discover that additional murders are occurring and being broadcast live, online. But are these homicides real or simply staged contrivances for another film? Teri Harrison and Alastair Mackenzie co-star; Rose authored the script. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

Has a star's desire to fully embrace a sinister role led her into madness? Rebecca Fairbanks (Elizabeth Hurley) is a well-known actress trying to get her career back on track after taking several years off. Fairbanks is returning to the screen in a role she's long wished to play -- Belle Gunness, a notorious real-life mass murderer who went on a well-documented killing spree in the 19th century. As the film's shooting schedule wears on, Fairbanks becomes romantically involved with her leading man, Jake Fields (Jeremy Sisto), but Fields and his friends on the production staff begin to question her stability when she starts wearing her costumes at all times, living on the sets, and tries to live as the character of Guinness. Fairbanks' behavior becomes all the more disturbing when members of the crew start falling victim to a murderer. Coincidentally, The Method (also known simply as Method) was Elizabeth Hurley's first film project after taking a two-year break from her acting career following the birth of her son in the spring of 2002. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Witchouse, a quickie horror film from Full Moon Pictures and director Jack Reed, concerns a young woman named Elizabeth LeFey (Ashley McKinney). She invites some of her old school friends to her creepy Dunwich, MA, home for a May Day haunted-house party. The first couple to arrive finds the house decked out with candles, torches, jack-o-lanterns, and so on before being stabbed to death in the basement by a gruesome-looking old hag with glowing eyes. When the other unsuspecting guests arrive, Elizabeth reveals a pentagram on her living room floor, telling them about her ancestor, Lilith, a witch who was burned at the stake on that night 300 years ago. Later, she raises the demonic Lilith (Ariauna Albright), now a fanged monster who zaps people with blue lightning until they die, because all but one are descendants of the original witch hunters who killed her. Many of the dead come back as possessed demons and interrupt the usual teen horror sexathon with some nasty violence. Executive producer Charles Band has a credit for "original story," which one can only assume means that he jotted down some notes while watching 1987's Night of the Demons and 1985's Demoni on late-night cable. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide
