Ika Panajotovic Movies
A longtime member of both the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Serbian producer/writer/director Ika Panajotovic embarked on a career in film and journalism after a car accident injury prevented him from taking part in the Jack Kramer Pro-Tour.A native of Belgrade, Panajatovic practiced law and wrote for newspapers from 1957-1962, during which time he also excelled at tennis, playing in the Wimbledon semifinals in 1958. After becoming a national champion the following year, Panajatovic was in a car accident and moved to Los Angeles to earn his law degree and follow a career in film and journalism. Taking such jobs as Yugoslavian coordinator for Scalawag (1973) and producing and writing such films as Wild Wind and Hell River, Panajatovic soon received consistent work in Tinseltown.

Panoramic, spectacular landscape shots enhance this wartime action film, but its emphasis on the philosophical and moral issues between Communists and fascists might be long-winded for some audiences. The setting is World War II in a divided and battered Yugoslavia. Cruise Missile takes its time getting to its much-anticipated climax, but by and large it's worth the wait. Peter Graves heads a special task force, assigned to literally save the world. A wacko has gotten hold of a nuclear cruise missile, and has threatened to touch off World War 3. What possible benefit this will have for the villain is never completely explained; it's enough that it provides a consistent level of suspense.
