Choosing "Charmed One" Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) as his victim, Gamill shrinks the girl to the size of five inches, then uses her as bait to lure Piper (Holly Marie Combs) and Paige (Rose McGowan) into a trap. Johnny Miller (Dale Midkiff) wants to take his wife, Susan Miller (Gail O'Grady), on a vacation to the Bahamas, but a traumatic childhood incident has left Gail with a mortal fear of swimming or even going anywhere near the ocean. As a means of curing herself, Gail signs up for swimming lessons, and in so doing, makes the acquaintance of affable instructor Laurel McArthur (Lisa Rinna). After the two women have become the closest of friends, Laurel reveals to Gail that she is in love with a handsome man who calls himself Jake. All well and good -- except that, unbeknownst to Laurel, "Jake" is actually none other than Gail's husband, Johnny. T.J. McKenna (Alan Rosenberg), a jaded executive at the NNT television network, once cared about living the best and most worthwhile life possible. Now all McKenna concerns himself is NNT's ratings, and accordingly he brashly promotes his network's programming as "bigger, better, absolutely shocking". Enter Monica (Roma Downey), who throws McKenna for a loop--and turns his life around--by suggesting that he put on a weekly TV show about angels. As part of Monica's "pitch", the viewer is treated to highlights from previous Touched by an Angel episodes, wherein Monica, Tess (Della Reese) and Andrew (John Dye) show the benefits accrued by caring for others rather than oneself. Noel Nosseck's Silent Predators concerns the sudden attacks of mutant rattlesnakes who have been breeding unnoticed for 20 years just outside of booming San Vicente, CA. In this made-for-TV movie, a young woman (Candace Cameron Bure) moves to a small town that was rocked by a shocking murder a year before, in which a teenage girl was killed. The woman is told that she bears a striking resemblance to the victim, and as coincidence would have it, she begins having strange and troubling dreams about a violent attack that closely parallels the previous crime. As the girl begins sharing the details of her dreams with the police, the killers plot to kill her, fearful that she will be able to expose them as the killers. Nightscream also features Terri Garr, Ned Vaughn, and Casper Van Dien.

Small screen veterans Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster), Ari Meyers (Kate & Allie, Evening Shade) and Tess Harper (Tender Mercies) co-star in the melodrama The Secret (AKA The Killing Secret), which took its initial bow on Mon., Jan. 6, 1997 as an NBC prime-time telemovie, but is now available in this home video release. While fictional, the story nonetheless bears eerie parallels to such real-life incidents as the Scott Peterson homicide. It tells of Greg (Mark Krassenbaum), a well-to-do high school senior and football star who divides his time and attention between two girlfriends: ritzy cheerleader Nicole (Meyers) and poor-as-dirt Emily (Frye). All is well until Emily drops the bombshell that she's expecting - and Greg does away with mom and the baby. Although Greg protests his innocence, his vice tightens when Nicole and Emily's mother become friends, and the authorities discover Emily's body in a lake. Hoping to put her life back together after an abusive first marriage, mild-mannered Laura Jameson (Mel Harris) weds again, thereby incurring the wrath and resentment of her rebellious teenage daughter Kelly (Nicholle Tom). Still holding Laura responsible for the suicide of her father, Kelly goes completely off the deep end, beginning with an overnight stay in juvenile custody and culminating in an eight months of legal hell in a dizzying progression of courtrooms. Clearly over her head when trying to cope with Kelly (all she can say upon her daughter's release is "Was it awful in jail, honey?"), Laura will ultimately be forced to draw upon reserves of inner strength that she never knew or believed she had. Farfetched though it sounds, A Mother's Justice was based on an actual case that occurred in Portland, Oregon. Made for television, Follow Your Heart was first telecast April 2, 1990. Ex-marine David Larson (Patrick Cassidy) is tooling along aimlessly in the middle of Wyoming when his jeep breaks down. Awaiting the verdict from the local repair shop, Larson takes a part-time job as a rest-stop attendant. Not the most outgoing of men, Larson is brought out of his shell when he befriends peppery widow Cloe Sixbury (Frances Sternhagen), her developmentally delayed son (Jace Alexander), and an orphaned Vietnamese girl (Nicole Francois). Full Exposure: The Sex Tapes Scandal was advertised as being inspired by "today's headlines", though most of those headlines were generated by TV tabloid shows. In her first TV movie, dethroned Miss America Vanessa Williams plays a hooker who specializes in S & M. She videotapes her kinky sexual liaisons, then blackmails the participants. When a mystery killer begins bumping off some of Williams' female compatriots, assistant D.A. Lisa Hartman (we missed that election) is called in on the case. Merlin Olsen stars as Aaron Miller, an Amish farmer from Pennsylvania. Aaron's oldest son leaves for Northern California, where he works in a grape vineyard before being killed in a wind-surfing accident; left behind is his pregnant girlfriend (Kathleen York). Thus it is that Aaron moves himself and his family to California, seeking to help out his late son's lady friend and to offer his services to the vineyard owners. Aaron's Way was the pilot for a "warm and fuzzy" Merlin Olsen TV series, which premiered in March of 1988. All the charm and joie de vivre of the 1953 Gregory Peck/Audrey Hepburn Roman Holiday is purged from this hollow TV remake. The stunning but lifeless Catherine Oxenberg assumes the Hepburn role of a young princess who escapes the protocol of court life for a romantic fling in Rome. Tom Conti stands in for Gregory Peck as the American journalist who falls in love with the Princess. Ed Begley Jr. takes over Eddie Albert's part of the eccentric photojournalist who acts as comic relief to the leads. Heading the list of mistakes committed in this remake is the fact that Oxenberg behaves more like a bored Danielle Steele character than the impressionable, virginal heroine of the original. Tony Roberts fills the standard best friend/lover/severest critic role, while other parts are essayed by Stuart Pankin and Alan Fudge. In this sequel to the 1985 TV movie Stark, Nicholas Surovy once again assumes the role of no-nonsense Wichita cop Evan Stark. When his former partner Steve Graves (Ben Murphy) is murdered, Stark exceeds his authority by tracking the killer to Las Vegas. In addition to Surovy, Dennis Hopper, Pat Corley, and Barry Gordon repeat their Stark roles, respectively cast as Las Vegas Police Lieutenant Ron Bliss, Wichita Police Chief Waldron, and Lee Fogel. Also in the cast are two future stars: Kirstie Alley as sultry lounge singer Maggie Carter (performing "I Got It Bad and That Ain't Good" and "Taking a Chance on Love") and Gina Gershon as Allison Cromwell.
