Armand Assante is an ex-cop turned undercover crime fighter in this intense, high speed action film from Director Sidney J. Furie. Dejected by the failure of an undercover drug bust involving some dirty cops, Jack Cunningham (Assante) must protect the only surviving witness if there is any hopes of clearing his name and cleaning the streets of an increasingly drug-infested city. As time winds to a close and the bad guys move in for the kill, Jack's chances for survival in an urban nightmare grow as dim, though there may be one last hope of turning the tables if he can just find a good place to hide. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

In this above-average, exciting Canadian-made action thriller, four psychopaths, led by Christie (Robert Carradine) take over and vandalize a ritzy Manhattan apartment building during the New York power blackout. They move from apartment to apartment, victimizing the occupants until stopped by the police. This low-budget thriller has an exciting, well-written script by John C. Saxton, excellent photography by Jean-Jacques Tarbes and well-acted cameo performances by several well-known actors, including Jean-Pierre Aumont, Ray Milland and June Allyson. While highly derivative and predictable, this film is well worth watching if only to see James Mitchum give an unusually strong performance. ~ Linda Rasmussen, All Movie Guide

One man's past comes back to haunt his family in this low-budget Canadian horror story. George Gimble was just five years old in 1947 when his mother abandoned her husband and young daughter, taking George with her. George's father and sister drove off into the night to look for them, but died in a freak auto accident. Thirty years later, George (Alan Scarfe) is married to Vivian (Beverly Murray), an unhappy woman who is recovering from a nervous breakdown, and they have a seven-year-old daughter, Cathy (Randi Allen), who keeps to herself. George has moved his family into the house his parents used to own, and before long Cathy finds a ragged old doll that she carries with her at all times. The doll carries the ghost of George's late sister, and as the angry spirit takes control of Cathy, the child develops demonic powers and uses them to punish her parents and playmates. Shot in Montreal, Cathy's Curse (aka Cauchemares) was the first English-language project from French director Eddy Matalon. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

They plan to murder the daughter of a bank president and replace her with a look-alike at the victim's private school. She manages to get all the keys to the strongboxes, and Ticky and his other accomplice make off with the loot. Ticky kills the man when he suspects he will make off with the money. He stands on shore as the woman masquerading as the banker's daughter swims out to sea. She would rather die than be loved by the hideously malevolent dwarf.
