Sophie falls in love with Eddie. He too, seems similarly attracted to her. But Sophie has a secret that may present an obstacle; she has a paralyzed leg and she fears that will turn Eddie off. Eddie had never seen her stand so he doesn't know this. Love-struck Sophie begins to spy on Ed. She gets a chance to win him after she accidently breaks her crippled leg. Telling him she injured it while skiing, the two begin a relationship. That Eddie is involved with stolen jewelry and a Russian policeman presents other obstacles to their happiness. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

In this hectic farce, Louis Aubinard (Bob Hoskins) is at the bottom of every totem pole he's ever come near, a nebbish and unattractive man who makes a poor living as a photographer of religious tableaux. His sister doesn't respect him and deliberately cooks awful food just to makes his life more miserable. At work, he is in danger of losing his job if he can't find a suitable model for a Christ-on-the-cross photo. One of his friends (Jean-Pierre Cassel) asks him to fill in for him on a movie project, and without knowing what he's being asked to do, Louis agrees to help out. He is astonished to discover that he is to provide the voiced-over cries of orgasmic delight for a porn movie. His fellow dubber is a lovely woman named Sybil (Natasha Richardson), and together, they voice a world-shaking sexual climax for the movie. Sybil then asks the hapless Louis to do a favor for her, and once again, he agrees. He meets the actress' boyfriend (Jeff Goldblum) as he is being released from jail and simultaneously finds his model for the troublesome photo. Things become particularly frenetic when the addle-pated ex-con takes his holy image too much to heart and begins trying to work miracles. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

The limitless talents of British actress Judy Davis are generously displayed throughout Georgia. Davis plays a dual role, as Nina, a brilliant attorney and (in flashbacks) Georgia, the attorney's mother. Haunted by her mother's long-ago death by drowning, Nina reopens the investigation. What she learns not only jeopardizes her relationships with several loved ones, but also puts her own life in peril. Perhaps too intense for some viewers, Georgia is nonetheless deserving of a wider audience than it originally received in 1988. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Dunera Boys is all the more incredible when one realizes that it is founded in truth. At the beginning of the second World War, the English government sanctioned the arrest of any German nationals suspected of being spies. Among these was a group of Jewish refugees, as well as several completely assimilated British subjects. Fishmonger Bob Hoskins, who despite his Germanic background is as British as they come, is rounded up along with the other "undesirables," herded aboard the HMT Dunera, and shipped off to a POW camp in Australia. This lumpy but involving film details Hoskins' futile efforts to make the best of his bizarre plight. The Dunera Boys was originally produced for Australian television; for its American release, it was given an R rating for violence and language. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This documentary follows the 1975-76 efforts of Reuben Davis, who seeks to ease the difficulties of would-be immigrants, holders of valid British passports, who are denied resident entry permits to the country because of that country's schizophrenic practice of issuing such passports to citizens of former colonies (Pakistan, East Africa, Cyprus) and at the same time refusing them entry into the country. Mr. Davis is shown interviewing the victims of this policy, advising them of options, and is also shown badgering immigration officials and the hapless holder of the post of Minister of Information. His efforts seem to have borne little fruit, as this same difficulty continues through the 1990s. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

The performance of character actor Ben Lewin stands out in this father/son drama. John Austin (Lewin) isn't able to properly care for his son Jack (Matty Roubert), so he allows the wealthy Melfords (Louis Dean and Jean Armour) to adopt him. Melford also hires Austin as his secretary, allowing him to keep an eye on the boy he has given up. When Melford runs into financial trouble and embezzles his bank's money, Austin keeps quiet about it, even as Melford dies and the now grown-up Jack (Schuyler White) takes the blame for the crime. He goes to jail, and the heartbroken Austin waits for him. Jack is released early, and though he finds out that Austin is his real father, they lose track of each other. Jack moves to another town, where his success is threatened by the appearance of George Harvey (Scott Hinchner), who threatens to expose his past. Austin, however, shows up in time to prove his boy's innocence. At last, father and son are reunited. ~ Janiss Garza, Rovi
