Exposed is the film in which concert violinist Rudolf Nureyev grabs his bow and "plays" the lissome body of Nastassja Kinski. This may well stand as the silliest bit of erotica in screen history, but in the context of the film it's a model of restraint. We're asked to believe that Kinski is Elizabeth Carlson, a Wisconsin girl who has come to the big city to make it as a pianist or model. We're also supposed to be convinced that Nureyev is part-time espionage agent Daniel Jelline, who is determined to bring terrorist Rivas (Harvey Keitel) to justice. Much of the film takes place in Paris, where at least the scenery is lovely. The various plotlines and characters never quite congeal. Despite the fact that director James Toback is given sole screenplay credit, the film seems more like a "committee" project. To its credit, Exposed is never dull; with that cast, how could anyone fall asleep? ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

This is the R-rated version of the hardcore sex film Dixie Ray, Hollywood Star. It's of somewhat historical significance as being one of the few porno films to feature a name Hollywood actor: Cameron Mitchell. Mitchell doesn't have any sex scenes (thankfully), but he plays a gangster boss (much like his role in My Favorite Year) in this 1940s-set period film. Star John Leslie (who doeshave sex scenes) plays a detective who is hired by a former movie star to find some "indiscreet" photographs of her. ~ Brian Gusse, All Movie Guide

Part of a late-'70s revival of interest in horror and particularly the character of Dracula, this soft-core horror comedy was directed by Philip Marshak, featured a bevy of porn stars, and was released the same year as the somewhat similar but far more successful vampire spoof Love at First Bite. The legendary vampire Count Dracula (Jamie Gillis) preys on shapely women by night, but he's got a problem: he can only consume the blood of virgins. With the help of his fly-consuming, sniveling assistant Renfield, the count attempts to seduce the comely Mina (Annette Haven) over to the side of the undead, but first he must avoid the intrepid Professor Van Helsing and his wooden stakes. Hewing somewhat faithfully to the original novel by Bram Stoker, Dracula Sucks was the second nudity-heavy adult film of the same name and featured generous amounts of skin and sexual situations, as well as porn favorites Seka and John Holmes in supporting roles. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

Charlton Heston, portraying swaggering bigot land-baron Richard "King" Howland on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, does a spit take when his sister Sloan (Yvette Mimieux) announces that she plans to marry Paul Kahana, a 100% native Hawaiian (played by 100% native Philadelphian James Darren). But Howland, in the meantime, is having a torrid affair with Mei Chen (France Nuyen). During Sloan and Paul's engagement party, Mei Chen's brother comes at Howland with a knife, but Paul intercedes and is killed. Sloan, bitter at Howland for Paul's death, runs off to Honolulu, where she is taken in by Paul's brother Dean (George Chakiris) and his family. Meanwhile, Mei Chen gives birth to Howland's child but dies during childbirth. Howland, ever the rabid racist, refuses to accept the child and Sloan takes it upon herself to care for it. After an angry fight with Sloan and Dean, Howland is confronted with a personal dilemma -- whether to continue on with his closed-minded ways or to welcome his newborn son into his family. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide
