This British family film follows the exploits of two white greenhorns lost in the African wilderness with only a 100 year old elephant to protect them. It was filmed on location in Kenya, Botswana, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. Michael, a teenager from the States, and Elisabeth, an English woman whom Michael has spent 10 days romantically pursing are part of an international tour group. Black poachers hijack the group and take Michael, Elisabeth, and an older Englishman, Charles hostage. As the three attempt their escape a tribal chieftain is killed. The chieftain's son, Rabar, begins to trail the threesome to exact his revenge. When Charles is killed by a lion, the two young folks are left to battle the African wilderness alone. A romance ensues. For some reason, a mighty elephant befriends them and always appears at the moments of greatest danger. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

All poor Blue really wants is to be a regular, suburban Southern California teen from the 1950s, with a boy friend and lots of normal friends. Unfortunately, Fate has other plans. This erotic drama (related to it's predecessor in name and director only) chronicles her experiences. Blue's father is a heroin-addicted jazz musician and her estranged mother is a hooker. The trouble begins when her father, Ham, runs out of heroin and gets too upset to play. Blue procures him a fix, but when he learns that she sold herself to the club owner to get it, he drops dead of shock. Blue continues working at the club, but she is no great shakes in the sex department and the club owner sells her to an upscale brothel that caters to high-ranking government officials. On one of her days off, she meets a handsome young man outside a church. Josh is everything she dreams of, clean-cut and kind. Unfortunately, she cannot tell him of her true profession and they must separate. Blue is despondent and makes a lousy call girl. To try and liven her up a bit, a senator hires her for a private gang bang. He films the festivities, but fortunately, just before she is raped by the depraved politicians, her chauffeur, Sully, who has become her friend, rushes in to save her and they leave town. Eventually they end up in Josh's town. She and Josh fall in love. Unfortunately, the irate madame has come looking for her. In this Hitchcockian thriller, a wealthy and naive young sculptor learns that people are not always nice and helpful. His first mistake is to fall for the seductress who runs the gallery that has an exclusive on his work. He then hooks up with an insane art collector who gets jealous of the gallery owner's hold on the artist and commits murder, leaving the sculptor to take the blame. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

It doesn't take long for the alleged story line to disappear from this kickboxer feeding-frenzy of a film so the real action can begin. Supposedly the movie is about an Olympic-caliber kickboxer who leaves Paris, headed to "some" southern California school to get an engineering degree and help train a kickboxing team. But it's really an effort to show how many Mexican- American hoodlums one artful foot flinger can dispatch. ~ All Movie Guide

The 1987 portmanteau comedy feature Amazon Women on the Moon lampoons several film genres in general and the 1954 sci-fi cheapie Cat Women of the Moon in particular. Other sketches in Amazon Women include an opening bit with Arsenio Hall; a vignette titled "Son of the Invisible Man" wherein a naked Ed Begley Jr. runs around in full view of the nonplussed supporting cast; the It's Alive parody "Hospital", which offers the spectacle of Michelle Pfeiffer giving birth to Mr. Potato Head; and a Siskel & Ebert takeoff, featuring Arche Hahn as a TV viewer whose entire life is given a "thumbs down." Directed by several hands, including Joe Dante, Carl Gottleib, Peter Horton, John Landis, and Robert K. Weiss, Amazon Women on the Moon also features a satire of the Kroger G. After being kicked off the force, Stoney Cooper (Wings Hauser) turns private detective for special cases; one involves tracking down a serial killer noted for carving X's into the forehead of each woman he kills.
