Beatrice Burnham Movies

A diminutive brunette ingenue of the 1920s, Beatrice Burnham entered films with Fox and Paramount in 1917. If her official birthdate is to be believed, she was all of 15 at the time and had no prior acting experience. She played supporting roles in such popular films as Jack and Jill (1917; Jack Pickford was Jack) and The Petal on the Current (1917) but later essayed leading roles in several potboilers. It was not much of a career and reviewers were taken by surprise when she seemingly came from out of nowhere to give a stirring performance as the tired, disatisfied frontier wife Milly Erne in the fine Tom Mix version of Riders of the Purple Sage (1925).
