In an interesting dramatic tale, the folk in a small fishing village tackle the challenge of putting on Hamlet while their own lives take dramatic turns as well. A schoolteacher starts them off on this project, and she chooses the people to play each role. John (Reine Brynolfsson) is Hamlet, Molly (Stine Bierlich) is Ophelia, and Vagn (Flemming Jorgensen) is the King. Molly is a prostitute on the run from a dangerous client and takes refuge in the town for the time being. John is the local grave-digger who has a lion's share of problems and soon finds both solace and help from Molly. As he and Molly start to fall in love, the play continues on in rehearsals. But then Molly's feared client comes into town, and she is faced with a dilemma of enormous proportions. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide
