After months of unemployment, young MBA Jenny Morgan (Heidi Noelle Lenhart) applies for what she thinks is an administrative position with the firm owned by handsome business executive Oliver Caldwell (Gregory Harrison). Unforutnately, someone's signals have gotten crossed, and Jenny finds she has been hired as nanny for the widowed Caldwell's spoiled-brat kids Kate (Katie Volding) and Alex (Jake Dinwiddie). Despite her daunting lack of experience as a surrogate mom, Jenny manages to bond with the kids, who behave badly mainly because their dad doesn't spend any time with them. During a trip abroad, Kate and Alex decide to play matchmaker for Oliver and Jenny, even though both adults already have fiancés. But taking into account that Kate's boyfriend Charlie (Michael Woolson) is an aimless dork and Oliver's intended Vivian (Jane Sibbert) is a bitch on wheels, it isn't hard to figure out how things will turn out. And if there are any doubts, just ask Caldwell's wry, all-knowing chauffeur Nigel Kent (John Rhys-Davies). Set in Paris (but actually filmed in Budapest!), the made-for-cable Au Pair originally aired August 22, 1999, on the Fox Family Channel; its open-ended finale enabled the producers to dash off a sequel, Au Pair II, in 2001. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

This sequel to the 2000 cable movie Au Pair finds wannabe executive Jenny Morgan (Heidi Lenhart) still working as the nanny for the children of widowed CEO Oliver Caldwell (Gregory Harrison). Oh, and Jenny and Oliver still aren't married, and are keeping their romance a secret for fear of offending Oliver's imperious mother-in-law Nell Grayson (June Lockhart). The BIG COMPLICATION this time around attends the merger between Caldwell's firm and the company run by zillionaire Carl Sennhauser, whose avaricious grown children Cassandra (Rachel York) and Michael (Robin Dunne) intend to use Jenny to financially ruin Oliver. As before, Oliver's kids Alex (Jake Dinwiddie) and Kate (Katie Volding) come to the rescue of practically everyone--and in the bargain, they continue playing matchmaker for their dad and their nanny. Also looming large in the scheme of things is Carl Sennhauser's precocious grandniece Brigitte (Celine Massuger). Filmed on location in Austria, Au Pair II made its first Fox Family Channel appearance on April 22, 2001. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Taking over the reins of the venerable Beethoven franchise, John Laroquette headlines this family-oriented comedy about the further adventures of the world's most meddlesome Saint Bernard. In this installment, it seems as though Beethoven has dug up the first part of a buried fortune, and his discovery has made him the center of attention in the normally sleepy burgh of Quicksilver. Lilo and Stitch's Daveigh Chase co-stars as Beethoven's best friend Sara, who brings him to the small town to visit her uncle Fred (Dave Thomas) when all the commotion starts. ~ Michael Hastings, All Movie Guide

This is a collection of 12 student film projects of varying lengths. Some of them are story films, others are documentaries. Among the documentary films, one shows daily life in an urban ghetto, another looks at problems of homosexuals. The story films include a thriller about a baby-sitter trying to deal with an obscene phone call. Another is a very short cartoon feature of an imagined exploration of the lives of a couple seen in an old sepia photograph. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide

Three middle-aged men take off for the beach in search of sex and happiness in this comedy that does not think much, and so it partly is. When the three older men arrive at the sea and surf, sex is not exactly forthcoming because they have lost the knack of picking up women. Enter the local hunk Scotty (Grant Kramer) who brings them up to speed, and, voilà, the men are miraculously able to overcome their obvious flaws and attract the younger women they desire. Even though they are together, the three men are not alike -- Hunter (Gary Wood) is a dedicated lecher and when he gets involved with Scotty's girlfriend Kristie (Teal Roberts), trouble starts to brew. Rounder (Michael Rapaport) is likeable and funny, and Ashby (Sorrells Picard) finally opts out of their joint venture. Most of these characters and their sexual hang-ups and interests and humor soon pale like a tan in winter, long before the last sunset has faded into night. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

The plot of this retrograde softcore film starts off when two American low-budget, sexploitation filmmakers arrive in Greece looking for females (whether for their filming or their own amusement does not seem to be relevant). A fellow named Scott (Brad Zutaut) tags along, and when all is said and done, transfers his affections from his fiancée to a woman waiting tables on the island of Rhodes. Part of the 88-minute running time here is devoted to a floating classroom with semi-nude students, the other part is dedicated to the filming of the sexploitation feature and the adventures of a few minor characters. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

This Hallmark Channel TV movie is one of several starring Kellie Martin as Samantha "Sam" Kinsey, the owner of a British-style American bookshop which traffics in mystery novels. To improve business, Sam hosts a book signing with three celebrity "whodunit" authors in attendance. One of the three, Claire Beckman (Beth Broderick), uses the occasion to announce her retirement -- whereupon she is nearly shot to death by a cleverly rigged hidden pistol. A second attempt on Claire's life, using poison, succeeds, whereupon local police chief Connors (Casey Sander) places everyone under suspicion -- including Sam. Thus, our heroine is forced once again to play amateur sleuth, with the able assistance of her friends and colleagues, especially enigmatic former CIA agent Philby (Clarence Williams III).
