Tim Daly stars in director Janet Greek's fair horror-thriller as Los Angeles attorney Jeff Mills, who rescues beautiful Miranda Reed (Kelly Preston) from being raped. As he and Miranda become lovers, Jeff learns that his new girlfriend is a witch trying to escape from an evil cult led by Aldys (Anthony Crivello), who wants to use her as a human sacrifice. Borrowing ideas from thrillers like Fatal Attraction (1987) and Tutti i Colori del Buio (1972), this borderline occult chiller co-stars genre veterans Rick Rossovich, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Stefan Gierasch, and Audra Lindley. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide

The third entry in the ultra-macho Rambo action movie series finds muscle-bound warrior John Rambo (co-writer and star Sylvester Stallone) refusing a request from his former Vietnam superior, Green Beret Colonel Trautman (Richard Crenna). Trautman is to lead a mission to aid the mujahedeen rebels fighting the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, but the Buddhist Rambo turns his friend down. When the mission goes awry and Trautman is subsequently captured and tortured within a prison fortress, Rambo launches a rescue effort of his own, armed with his trademark bow and exploding arrows. Along the way, he allies himself with the freedom fighters and runs afoul of the villainous Russian commander Zaysen (Marc de Jonge). At the time of its release, Rambo III -- released in the same month in 1988 that Russian troops began withdrawing from Afghanistan -- was the most expensive film ever made, at 63 million dollars. ~ Karl Williams, All Movie Guide

Two gorgeous women -- Donna (Dona Speir) and Taryn (Hope Marie Carlton) -- operate a airplane cargo delivery service in Hawaii. Their latest shipment includes a very large, very nasty snake destined for the local zoo. But the delivery is interrupted when they stumble on a cache of diamonds that were to go to a ruthless drug dealer, Seth (Rodrigo Obregon). Seth sends a transvestite to kidnap the owner of a restaurant, Edy (Cynthia Brimhall), so his men can torture her with a female bodybuilder into revealing where Donna and Taryn are. Luckily for all the good guys, Special Agent Rowdy Abilene (Ronn Moss) has a bazooka, and he knows how to use it. And unluckily for Seth, that nasty snake has broken out of its box. ~ Buzz McClain, All Movie Guide
