The lurid title of this black comedy comes from a New York Post headline for the story on which this film is based. It begins in a seedy bar late at night where a small crowd of customers disinterestedly eye the listless gyrations of Candy, a topless dancer. Among the customers are a corporate lawyer, two obnoxious young men, and a wheelchair-bound man. Suddenly a gunman, an ex-con, enters to rob the joint. The bartender resists and is immediately shot in the head. The gunman, alternately charming and totally insane, holds the rest hostage making them do his bidding as he tries to decide whether or not to kill them. The story is shot in real-time, and the minutes tick agonizingly by. At one point he makes them all dance, and at another forces them to play "Truth or Dare" in which they must reveal their dirtiest little secrets. The situation really intensifies when fellow dancer and lover of Candy, Letitia, comes in, and the gunman decides he must extract the damning bullet from the bartender's head. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

Bruce Boxleitner plays a second-rate Rambo in the action film Diplomatic Immunity. Boxleitner is grizzled and tight-lipped Vietnam veteran and U.S. Marine instructor Cole Hickel. When his daughter Ellen (Sharon L. Case) begins to date Paraguayan nationalist Klaus Hermann (Tom Breznahan), Cole looks askance at the couple. His suspicions prove correct when Ellen is murdered by Klaus, who uses her body as a subject for his sado-masochistic paintings. The police arrest Klaus but, because of his aristocratic descent, the government refuses to bring him to trial. Cole takes the law into his own hands and, with arms-dealer pal Cowboy (Billy Drago), Cole heads back into Paraguay as a one-man army to exact vengeance upon Klaus and any other Paraguayan who stands in his way. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

This low-budget Canadian weirdness involves the diabolical schemes of pop psychologist Dr. Blake (David Gale, who played a far more convincing horror villain in Re-Animator), the host of an incredibly popular TV self-help show called "Independent Thinking." Blake takes a particular interest in the case of a juvenile delinquent (Tom Breznahan), whose brain is fitted with a special transmitter linking him to a giant, bug-eyed, fanged brain monster, which begins to remotely control his will. Sort of a blend of Videodrome and The Brain from Planet Arous by way of EC Comics, this would have come off as a fairly clever sci-fi/horror sleeper if not for the ridiculous special effects: the monster is essentially a big brain-shaped rubber balloon with a cartoonish face on it. ~ Cavett Binion, All Movie Guide

Though it runs a scant two hours, the made-for-TV Earth*Star Voyager was originally telecast in two parts. Both were shown as installments of The Disney Sunday Movie. In Part One, telecast January 17, 1988, we were introduced to the very young crew of the 21st-century space vessel Earth*Star Voyager. They'd just embarked on a 26-year mission to locate another inhabitable planet. In Part Two, which first aired January 24, 1988, the crew members stumble across the wreckage of an earlier space vehicle and come to the aid of an endangered alien/human mutant. This romantic comedy is based on a true story that happened in California in 1944. Sonny Wisecarver (Patrick Dempsey) is 15 year old who has an affair with his older neighbor Judy (Talia Balsam). The two run off and get married, but a stern judge has the union annulled. Sonny is hauled before the same judge when he gets involved with another older woman (Beverly D'Angelo), and the publicity makes him the object of affection for millions of young women who believe Sonny has something special. Michael Constantine and Betty Jinnett play Sonny's concerned parents. In the tradition of The Prince and the Pauper, the two teens trade places, then refuse to go back to their true identities because they're having too much fun.
