Robin Harris was one of the best-respected African-American comedians of his day; after making his way up the ladder the hard way by playing club gigs around the country while working day jobs, he gained his first major break when he became the master of ceremonies at the Comedy Act venue in Los Angeles. Harris' sharp wit and old-school approach earned gained the attention of a number of filmmakers, and in the late '80s he scored showy roles in Do the Right Thing, Mo' Better Blues, and House Party. However, just as Harris seemed poised to make a major career breakthrough, he died of a respiratory ailment in 1990 at the age of 37. The Robin Harris Story: We Don't Die, We Multiply is a documentary which examines Harris' short but memorable career, and includes interviews with such friends and fans as Bernie Mac, Cedric the Entertainer, Martin Lawrence, and Robert Townsend. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Lawrence's character, Terry, will seemingly do about whatever it takes to get a gig at Dukie's comedy club. You remember the breakdancing craze of the early 1980s. Well, if you don't, have we got a film for you! Director Topper (D C Cab) Carew's Breaking and Entering is a lively overview of the head-spinning school of terpischore. Carew intersperses superb shots of breathless breakdancing exhibitions with interviews of the participants and fans of this peculiar skill. In this casual, uninvolved comedy running on a low-octane script, a scruffy taxi company is about to be wiped out when its owner Harold (Max Gail) exhorts his cabbies to do what they can to help save the company -- and what they can do turns out to be a surprise to everyone concerned. This is a collection of 12 student film projects of varying lengths. Some of them are story films, others are documentaries. Among the documentary films, one shows daily life in an urban ghetto, another looks at problems of homosexuals. The story films include a thriller about a baby-sitter trying to deal with an obscene phone call.
