A man vacationing in the country with his wife and children finds his sexuality unexpectedly challenged in director Zabou Breitman's intimate drama. Frédéric is a family man who needs a vacation. Upon arriving at his cottage in the country, Frédéric makes the acquaintance of Hugo -- the gay neighbor who resides in the adjacent cottage. A free spirit who is open about his sexuality and frequently goes skinny-dipping in the moonlight, Hugo seems to be everything that Frédéric isn't. Soon, the tension between Hugo and Frédéric is palpable. Yet, while they may be at odds over their opposite lifestyles, the two men are also obviously attracted to one another and soon begin to flirt heavily. But Hugo's taunting of hopeless romantic Frédéric begins bordering on cruel when it becomes obvious that Frédéric is jealous of his new lover. A handful of men who are standing in the shady side of 50 depend on one another to sort out the romantic and personal complications facing them in this comedy from France. Manu (Jean-Pierre Darroussin), Antoine (Bernard Campan), Alex (Marc Lavoine), and Jeff (Gérard Darmon) are four close friends who've known each other for years, and lately seem to be spending a lot of time helping one another with women and midlife crises. Manu, who runs a delicatessen, is single, with two ex-wives and three grown children to his credit; lately, he's been dating Juliette (Florence Thomassin), who is young and beautiful, but not especially bright. Antoine is a school teacher who, for the past 15 years, has been married to Lili (Fabienne Babe); however, when he learns that she had a brief fling with another man, he's not certain he'll ever be able to forgive her. Magazine publisher Alex constantly pledges his fidelity to his wife, Nanou (Catherine Wilkening), when in fact he's been chronically unfaithful for years, though Nanou (to her frustration) has been unable to prove it. Nicholas Cuche's supernatural comedy Jojo La Frite (Accidental Saint) stars Didier Becchetti and Frederic Saurel as a pair of small-time con artists. Ralph (Becchetti) and Swan (Saurel) barely survive by committing petty thefts and scams. At Christmastime Swan stops a mugger from getting away with a woman's purse. Suddenly a halo appears above Swan's head. He is now an angel. This gives his partner Ralph fits as Swan is no longer able to engage in immoral activities. When Swan performs a miracle, crime boss Benz (Jean-Christophe Bouvet) becomes interested in exploiting them for profit. Two people looking for an answer to their problems with memory loss find love along the way in this comedy-drama from France. Claire (Isabelle Carre) is a woman in her early '30s whose mother recently passed on due to Alzheimer's Syndrome; in a bitterly ironic twist of fate, Claire was struck by lightning, and ever since her memory has begun to fade away. Needing help for her condition, Claire enters a special clinic for people with memory-loss problems. Located in a large house in the country, the clinic is supervised by Dr. Christian (Bernard Le Coq), a quirky physician who thinks none of his patients can tell he's having an affair with one of his assistants, Marie (Zabou Breitman). While at the clinic, Claire meets Philippe (Bernard Campan), a noted wine expert whose memory has begun to fail him. Claire and Philippe become infatuated with one another while at the clinic, and when the two are released, they decide to move in together. As they try to set up housekeeping, it becomes obvious that while Claire and Philippe have refused to give in to their condition, it is still having an unavoidable impact on their lives. Directed by Didier Bourdon, a member of the French comedy troupe Les Inconnus, this comedy stars Bourdon and other members of the troupe. Bourdon plays one of three half-brothers who have been separated since childhood and are reunited when they come to their mother's funeral. They discover that she has left them a considerable family fortune. Each of them begins spending his share of the money on lavish things. Two days later, they are told that they are not getting the money after all because it is being donated to charitable causes. One of them also discovers that he has a young son he never knew about. With the child, the three brothers are chased by the police because they have run up debts they cannot pay. In a first-time production by television comedians and café-theater actors, this is a slightly shallow comedy about a novice private detective and his cohorts, out to capture a feared "telephone killer" who strangles his victims (all female) with a phone cord. "The Commissioner" (Jean-Claude Brialy) runs the police investigation -- a kind of investigative competition with the amateur sleuths.
