The plot of this retrograde softcore film starts off when two American low-budget, sexploitation filmmakers arrive in Greece looking for females (whether for their filming or their own amusement does not seem to be relevant). A fellow named Scott (Brad Zutaut) tags along, and when all is said and done, transfers his affections from his fiancée to a woman waiting tables on the island of Rhodes. Part of the 88-minute running time here is devoted to a floating classroom with semi-nude students, the other part is dedicated to the filming of the sexploitation feature and the adventures of a few minor characters. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

- Brad Zutaut, Sam Temeles, (more)
A young woman kills a would-be rapist in self-defense and ends up serving a two year sentence for manslaughter. Once there she is killed by a macho, drug-dealing lesbian gang leader. The death is listed as a suicide, but the victim's sister, Laurie Collins, suspects otherwise and begs the authorities to do a full investigation. They refuse so Laurie, a movie stuntwoman, commits a crime, gets herself sent to the same prison and heads off for revenge. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

In this teen-sex laugher, a high-school Romeo is killed in a car accident but is able to return to life for a 24-hour period. During this time he chases after his dreamboat only to find she's not interested. So, he turns invisible at the most opportune times (for him) such as in the girls' shower room, etc. He's out to have as good a time as he can in the little time that he has. ~ Rovi

Three middle-aged men take off for the beach in search of sex and happiness in this comedy that does not think much, and so it partly is. When the three older men arrive at the sea and surf, sex is not exactly forthcoming because they have lost the knack of picking up women. Enter the local hunk Scotty (Grant Kramer) who brings them up to speed, and, voilà, the men are miraculously able to overcome their obvious flaws and attract the younger women they desire. Even though they are together, the three men are not alike -- Hunter (Gary Wood) is a dedicated lecher and when he gets involved with Scotty's girlfriend Kristie (Teal Roberts), trouble starts to brew. Rounder (Michael Rapaport) is likeable and funny, and Ashby (Sorrells Picard) finally opts out of their joint venture. Most of these characters and their sexual hang-ups and interests and humor soon pale like a tan in winter, long before the last sunset has faded into night. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

In this early '80s send-up of venerable horror clichés, Richard Benjamin and Paula Prentiss star as John and Mary, an ordinary couple who inherit a mysterious house from a deceased uncle. Along with kids Debbie (Kari Michaelsen) and Billy (Kevin Brando), they move into the musty mansion, unaware that vampire Waldemar (Jeffrey Tambor) and his wife are desperately seeking an ancient book housed within its walls. Soon, Billy finds the book and learns that opening it releases an assortment of scary creatures. John and Mary, however, refuse to believe Billy's tall tales, not even after Mary ends up with puncture marks in her neck and an aversion to normal food. Soon, a mer-man is stalking Debbie in the bathtub, relatives are disappearing and monsters have taken over the house. Help arrives in the form of the wise Van Helsing (Severn Darden) -- or does it? Saturday the 14th provided the directorial debut for veteran horror screenwriter Howard R. Cohen, who would return to the same territory with 1988's Saturday the 14th Strikes Back. Benjamin, who is married to Prentiss in real life, also appeared in the horror satire Love at First Bite. ~ Brian J. Dillard, Rovi

Dinah (Yvette Mimieux) has had a string of bad luck. In a previous film, Jackson County Jail, she was driving from Los Angeles to New York, and her car, her money and all her identification papers are stolen from her. A series of misunderstandings and false charges land her in jail, where a male guard rapes her. She killed the guard rapist, and escaped from prison with another inmate. In the made for television film Outside Chance, the same sequence of events happens, except that Dinah is tried and sentenced for the guard's murder with no extenuating circumstances (her story of a rape is not believed). Later, she escapes with the girlfriend of the man who stole her car in the first place. Both films, Jackson County Jail and Outside Chance, have become cult favorites. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
Yvette Mimieux delivers a sensitive, nuanced performance in a role that could have easily spread into a cheap exploitation turn in Jackson County Jail. Mimieux plays advertising executive Dinah Hunter, who leaves Los Angeles and a promising career after she discovers her lover has been cheating on her. Determined to start fresh in New York City, she gets into her car and heads east. Picking up some young hitchhikers along the way, she ends up stranded in an out-of-the-way western town after being beaten up and having her car stolen. Thrown into the local jailhouse on trumped up charges, she finds herself at the mercy of a psychopathic guard who further beats her and then rapes her. Dinah kills the jailkeeper and goes on the lam with fellow jailhouse inmate and down-home radical Coley Blake (Tommy Lee Jones). The sheriff's department engages the couple in a wild car chase through a parade commemorating the United States' Bicentennial, as Dinah and Coley try to break free to the open road. ~ Paul Brenner, Rovi

In this drama, a determined father hits the sleaziest streets in the city in hopes of finding his troubled daughter before it is too late. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
Exploitation auteur Jack Hill wrote and directed this wild, often satiric girl-gang movie, whose story is loosely (make that very, very loosely) based on Othello. The Silver Daggers are a gang of young hoods who control an inner-city high school, where they sell drugs and sex to the student body and fight anyone who gets in their way. The Daggers have a ladies' auxiliary, The Dagger Debs, who rumble just as hard as the men, but one day chief Dagger Deb Lace (Robbie Lee) meets her match in Maggie (Joanne Nail), a new kid who won't back down. When a scuffle lands Maggie and the Debs in jail for the night, Maggie comes to Lace's rescue, and Maggie becomes Lace's new right-hand woman. However, fellow Deb Patch (Monica Gayle) is jealous of Maggie's friendship with Lace, and begins spinning a web of deceit to destroy Lace's trust in the new deb. In the midst of the infighting, the Silver Daggers find their turf challenged by a rival gang who pose as a community action team, and the Debs join forces with a revolutionary political group. Kitty Bruce, Lenny Bruce's daughter, plays Doughnut, one of the Debs, and Marlene Clark plays a Mao-spouting revolutionary leader. This exploitation cult item gained a new life in 1996, when Quentin Tarantino, a big fan of director Hill, sponsored a theatrical re-release through his company Rolling Thunder Pictures. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
