Peggie Castle is the Two-Gun Lady in this no-frills western. Castle plays Kate Masters, whose prowess with a gun earns her both fame and notoriety throughout the West. She returns to her hometown, intending to avenge the murder of her parents. Aiding and abetting Kate is U.S. marshal Dan Corbin (William Talman), who poses as a low-life to draw out the villains. Some of the best scenes are played between Peggy Castle and the equally formidable Marie Windsor; in their own way, the film's two leading ladies are more fearsome than the male antagonists! ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In this saccharine Klondike adventure, a brave female reporter who has a rapport with wild animals heads north to cover a story. Included in her animal entourage are a pair of bear cubs, a talking rook, and a homeless collie. After she gets lost, a handsome guide shows up to lead her out of the wilderness. It is an arduous journey fraught with many natural dangers, and the travelers nearly die from hunger until another man shows up to save them. Secretary Carol Baldwin (Jean Arthur) is in love with her boss, health-magazine publisher Fred Gilbert (George Brent). So what else is new? Well, for starters, Carol isn't terribly attractive, so Fred pays but little attention to her. Gee, nothing new here, come to think of it. Well, how about this: Carol undergoes a glamour treatment and wins Fred away from his dumb-blonde tootsie Maizie West (Dorothea Kent).
