Although ostensibly set in the future after a nuclear holocaust has destroyed the ozone layer, and much of everything else, this feeble sci-fi road film has gangs on motorbikes or driving 1,000-year-old cars from the 1970s in perfect running order, at war for water, a rare commodity. On the one hand, there is Alien (Robert Jannucci) and his female friend Trash (Alicia Moro), and the bionic child Tommy (Luca Ventantini) who are pitted against the evil bikers headed by Crazy Bull (apparently not meant to be a reference to the film). The brave trio join up with Papillon for awhile, an ex-astronaut with expertise in fixing old cars and broken bionic parts. Once set in good working order, the trio now has to take on Crazy Bull and the bad guys, one of which is actually a really nasty female. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

- Robert Jannucci, Alicia Moro, (more)
A beautiful salesgirl falls victim to a brutal gangster, and after being forced into a life of depravity, her escape is only the beginning of her terror in director Giuliano Carnimeo's gritty Eurocult classic. Anna (Edwige Fenech) was a naïve shop girl working in a small boutique when she fell prey to the deceptive charms of serpentine gangster Guido (Corrado Pani). After being forced into prostitution and suffering endless abuse at the hands of the brutish Guido, Anna resolves to escape with her son and start life anew with kindly doctor Lorenzo (John Richardson). Soon tracked down by the ruthless and vengeful gangster, Anna is forced to face her fears and fight for her life. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
A down on his luck gambler goes to work for a pair of wealthy, and lusty, female admirers only to discover that his chores include much more than simple housework. Michele (Carlo Giuffrè) knows how to handle his cards, but lately he's been stuck on a losing streak. Informed by his friend and advisor Peppino (Enzo Cannavale) that his debts have superseded his earnings, Michele sells shoes just to get by. But as good as Michele is at handling cards, he handles women even better. Giulia and Monica are two of his biggest admirers, and they're willing to pay him to perform odd jobs around their mansion. But their idea of odd jobs include getting Michele to pose for nude paintings, and summoning him to the barn for a roll in the hay. Before long, Michele's libidinous new employers are working him around the clock. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
George Hilton stars as an aspiring gunfighter named Dick Luft in this humorous spaghetti western variation on the legend of Don Quixote. Although he eventually reaches fame by the oddest of circumstances, Dick is really being guided by his sidekick, Veleno (Tony Norton). Cris Huerta, Umberto D'Orsi, and Nello Pazzafini co-star in this amusing film from prolific director Giuliano Carmineo, here using the pseudonym "Anthony Ascott." The soundtrack was composed by Alessandro Alessandroni, best known for whistling on Ennio Morricone's famed scores for the films of Sergio Leone. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide
Testa T'Ammazzo, Croce . . . Sei Morto . . . Mi Chiamano Alleluja was the original title of this spaghetti western. Also, Guns for Dollars was but one of its English-language titles: others include They Call Me Hallelujah and A Fistful of Lead. George Hilton is one of four mercenaries who fight in the Mexican revolution for fun and profit. Warfare is forgotten as the scroungy quartet search for a hidden fortune in gold. Some of the best scenes pit Hilton against a Russian Cossack who, by default, is also one of the good guys. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
This brisk little thriller is a textbook example of a giallo: Perche Quelle Strane Gocce Di Sangue Sul Corpo Di Jennifer? doesn't make a lot of sense but it keeps the viewer guessing throughout and packs plenty of wild visual excess into its running time. Ernesto Gastaldi's script is thin on characterization and logic but delivers all the elaborate murder setpieces, red herrings and radical plot twists the genre requires. Director Giuliano Carnimeo avoids allowing the viewer to dwell on the gimmicky nature of the storytelling by maintaining a snappy pace and trotting out a vast array of eye-catching visual devices (zooms, fish-eye lens shots, point-of-view camerawork) to keep the viewer's eye dazzled throughout. The performances are limited by the weak characterizations but Edwige Fenech is easy on the eyes as the film's heroine and George Hilton makes a decent square-jawed hero. All these elements make Perche Quelle Strane Gocce Di Sangue Sul Corpo Di Jennifer? a fast-paced, occasionally startling piece of macabre eye candy. Viewers looking for narrative depth won't find much of interest here but fans of 1970's Eurotrash are likely to consider it a kitschy delight. ~ Donald Guarisco, All Movie Guide
Giuliano Carmineo directed this silly sequel to his own Lo Chiamavano Spirito Santo (1970) under the pseudonym "Anthony Ascott." Gianni Garko returns as the Holy Ghost, a supernatural gunfighter dressed in white and with a dove sitting on his shoulder. With his sidekick, the Preacher (Victor Israel), the Holy Ghost rescues some farmers from the fortified prison of the evil Gen. Ruiz (Paolo Gozlino) then raids the castle again for gold treasure aided by some local prostitutes. Pilar Velazquez,Jorge Rigaud, Piero Lulli and Massimo Serato are among the familiar faces in the cast, and Bruno Nicolai's odd musical score is a fine accompaniment to such scenes as the Ghost's dove torturing a man for information by pecking at birdseed on his chest. The series continued with Vassili Karis as the Ghost in Roberto Mauri's ...E Lo Chiamavano Spirito Santo (1972) and its 1973 sequel Spirito Santo e le Cinque Magnifiche Canaglie. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide
Prolific filmmaker Giuliano Carmineo directed this fourth sequel to Se Incontri Sartana Prega per la Tua Morte (1968) under the pseudonym "Anthony Ascott." Gianni Garko is Sartana, the mythical, almost supernatural avenger whose gun is his justice. This time, Sartana helps a gambler named Grand Full (Piero Lulli), who claims to have been wrongly accused of murder. The avenger breaks Grand Full out of jail and the pair escapes to the site of the crime -- the town of Mansfield -- where they battle bounty hunters and a wicked boss (Massimo Serato) before the gunslinger figures out that he's been had. Needless to say, Sartana does not take kindly to having been fooled. Nieves Navarro (a.k.a. Susan Scott) co-stars in this grim Italian-French spaghetti western with Frank Brana and Bruno Corazzari. One of the genre's best-known composers, Bruno Nicolai, did the soundtrack. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide

Inspired by the spaghetti westerns, Giuliano Carnimeo's Buon Funerale Amigos, Paga Sartana concerns a tough man who cleans out the bad guys in a town with the help of his trusty rifle. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide
Nello Pazzafini, using the pseudonym "Ted Carter," leads a band of outlaws in this rousing spaghetti western from director Giuliano Carmineo (as "Anthony Ascott"). Lisa (Pascale Petit) and her brother Paul are settlers who discover an abandoned mine full of gold but are attacked and robbed by Pazzafini's gang. Wandering to the town of Eagle's Nest, Lisa enlists the aid of a vagabond gunfighter named Joe Collins (Jeffrey Hunter) in getting back the gold and avenging her brother's murder. Aldo Lastretti appears as the obligatory fake priest, Rev. Riley, and genre regulars Daniela Giordano and Piero Lulli co-star. Hugo Fregonese collaborated on the screenplay, while Ricardo Pallottini provided the striking cinematography. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide
Produced by Roger Corman, Gunslinger stars Corman's then-sweetheart Beverly Garland as tough lady-marshal Rose Hood. Dance-hall girl Erica Page (Allison Hayes), Rose's bitterest enemy, hires gunslinger Cane Miro (John Ireland) to bump off the marshal. When he falls in love with Rose, Cane is faced with the most delicate dilemma in his entire murderous career. Cheaply made, Gunslinger has a raw, dusty integrity often lacking in more expensive westerns. The best scenes involve the confrontations between Beverly Garland and Allison Hayes, two of the most fearsome females ever captured on celluloid. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
- Starring:
- John Ireland, Beverly Garland, (more)
