Blockbuster action director Michael Bay delivers a striking look at a strange world of the future in this sci-fi action drama. Midway through the 21st century, Lincoln Six Echo (Ewan McGregor) lives in a confined indoor community after ongoing abuse of the Earth has rendered most of the planet uninhabitable. One of the only places in the outside world still capable of sustaining life is an idyllic island where citizens are chosen to live through a lottery. Or at least that's what Lincoln and his fellow citizens are taught to believe; the truth is that Lincoln, like everyone he knows, is actually a clone who is kept under wraps to provide needed organs when the person who supplied his or her DNA falls ill. When he becomes aware that his existence is a fraud, Lincoln escapes to the outside world with a fellow clone, Jordan Two Delta (Scarlett Johansson), though the powers that be are determined to see that no one gets away alive. The Island also stars Steve Buscemi, Djimon Hounsou, Michael Clarke Duncan, and Sean Bean. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) experiences yet another vision, this one involving danger to a young family. Angel (David Boreanaz) rushes to the scene and barely saves a sleepwalking boy named Ryan (Jesse James) from getting run over. Wesley (Alexis Denisof) realizes that an Ethros demon (Anthony Cistaro) has possessed a member of the boy's family -- mother Paige (Katy Boyer), father Seth (Will Kempe), or daughter Stephanie (Ashley Edner). With the help of some magic brownies, the team roots out the demon, who is hiding inside little Ryan himself. With no priest available, Angel himself must undertake the exorcism. But when the magic box procured by Cordelia to contain the expelled demon proves insufficient, Wes and Angel must hunt the thing down and kill it. Its dying pronouncement is that it had been trying to escape Ryan's body all along -- because the boy himself was pure evil, more monstrous than any demon. Angel and Wes rush back to the family's home just in time to save little Stephanie from Ryan's pyromania. Originally broadcast February 15, 2000, on the WB network, "I've Got You Under My Skin" marked season one, episode 14 of the supernatural comedy drama. ~ Brian J. Dillard, Rovi

Telemovie mainstays Richard Crenna and Patty Duke (who co-starred in the 1982 sitcom It Takes Two) reteamed for this 1996 prime-time docudrama. Crenna is John Porter, a husband and father whose emotional isolation from his wife (Duke) and children springs from his own ingrained fear of mortality. When the Porters' twentysomething daughter, Sarah, is kidnapped, crisis pulls the family together in a desperate attempt to find the young woman before time runs out. It also forces John to overcome his fear of intimacy and connection, by reaching out to his family at an intensely difficult time. This feature, unsurprisingly, was based on a true story. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

In this made-for-TV sci-fi-drama, the world has entered into an age when travel between the planets has become an everyday event, and Driscoll Rampant (Neal McDonough), a medical student, finds himself taking an internship on the distant planet of Rusta. Unlike Earth, Rusta does not turn on its axis as it orbits through space, with one half of the planet in constant daylight and the other in permanent nighttime; as a result, Rusta has two very different civilizations, one a genteel land of ladies and gentlemen, the other a feudal kingdom. As Rampant travels between the two sides of Rusta, he struggles to build a bridge between both sides in a world where the essential duality of man is brought clearly to the forefront. White Dwarf also stars Paul Winfield, C.C.H. Pounder, and Ele Keats. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Kathleen Quinlan is Trapped in this made-for-cable thriller. Cast as a junior executive, Quinlan finds herself electronically locked inside a high-rise office building. Think she's all alone? Mais non, monsieur. There must needs be a homicidal maniac (Ben Loggins) on the premises, else the movie would be only 12 minutes long. Trapped premiered June 14, 1989, over the--you guessed it--USA Cable network. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

In this high-energy satire of the music biz, Ivan Alexov (John Cusack) and Josh Tager (Tim Robbins) lose their jobs as security guards, and they decide to start their own video production company. Their first gigs are less than inspiring, including a rappin' commercial for a chicken-and-waffle place, a living will, and a right-wing Presidential-hopeful's (Clu Gulager) gala dinner. Eventually, they get to direct a heavy-metal music video which becomes a huge surprise success. But now the politician needs to get back a private videotape from the boys, and the Secret Service is put on their trail. This chaotic romp has cameos from more music celebs than you can shake a tape reel at, as well as a hopping little soundtrack by Fishbone. This is also the film that introduced a conservative folksinger/politician character who later got his own movie, Bob Roberts. ~ John Voorhees, Rovi

Carol (Tracey Gold) is thrilled when the most popular girl in school, cheerleader Annie (Katy Boyer), wants to be her friend. But Maggie is far from thrilled when she discovers that Carol is only playing up to Carol to be near Carol's brother Mike. Highlighted by brief clips from the film classic Casablanca, this episode (originally slated to air on October 14, 1986) is also significant in that Mike receives his first on-screen kiss (eliciting the obligatory "Oooooooh" from the laughtrack!) ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

In this uneven teen comedy, an aspiring female high-school journalist assumes a fake male identity after her essay on just that subject -- a woman posing as a male jock -- is rejected in a contest. Miffed by what she assumes is a bias against her gender in the rejection of her essay, Terry (Joyce Hyser) dons the right garb, gets a new haircut, drops her voice down to a suitable male-sounding register and passes herself off as a guy (okay, not believably, but one is willing to go along with the conceit to see what happens). As she soon discovers, moments in the locker room and at phys ed classes can be harrowing, but worse yet, she becomes seriously enamored of Rick (Clayton Rohner) a quiet, good-looking guy who does not run with either the macho or preppie pack. How can she broach the subject of her real identity? Terry's friends have their own romantic interests, all of which are resolved at the high school prom. It just had to be -- this film was followed by one titled Just One of the Girls with another director, and a male cross-dresser as the featured protagonist. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi
