Silvio Amadio (Alla Ricerca del Piacere) directed this relatively unknown supernatural thriller from a script co-written by cult filmmaker Claudio Fragasso (Monster Dog). Philippe Leroy stars in the Italian-French co-production as an American musician who comes to Rome, only to learn that his young son is possessed by a malevolent spirit intent on using the boy to commit murder. Martine Brochard and Susan Buchanan co-star, and Roberto Pregadio's score is sure to delight any fan of cheesy '70s exploitation film music. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide

This kinky thriller stars Barbara Bouchet as a secretary who comes to the swampland home of writer Richard Stewart (Farley Granger) and his wife Eleonor (Rosalba Neri). Her predecessor was murdered by a local fisherman-rapist (Dino Mele), but there's more to the story than meets the eye, and Bouchet soon finds herself in mortal danger. Typical of the genre, the film is full of nudity and violence, as well as some deftly-handled red herrings. Umberto Raho shows up as the butler, who gets a gaffing hook rammed through his neck for good measure. Director Silvio Amadio has crafted a sick, scary, entertaining little film which will please most Euro-thriller fans. Amadio went on to make the even better Il Sorriso Della Iena, also with Neri. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide

This sweet coming-of-age film concerns a pair of Italian teenagers, Gabriele (Jacques Perrin) and Giovenella (Rosemarie Dexter), whose parents attempt to keep them apart. Gabriele's father (Folco Lulli) goes so far as to take his son to a prostitute, and when that fails, considers letting the youngster sleep with his own mistress. Gabriele finally rents an apartment, where he and Giovenella consummate their love. A surprisingly prim coda involves a warning by a policeman and the couple's vows to refrain from further physical intimacy until marriage. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide

Danger and romance are in plentiful supply in one of Europe's most beautiful cities in this sophisticated thriller. Shelley North (Cyd Charisse) is an American tourist who has come to Rome on a vacation with her husband. When he disappears without warning, Shelley visits the American embassy in search of help; word of Shelley's dilemma makes its way to Dick Sherman (Hugh O'Brian), an American expatriate who edits an English-language newspaper in Rome and once had a fling with Shelley when they were single and living in the States. Dick offers to help Shelley find her husband, and recruits a friend to help -- one of the top homicide detectives in Italy. When the missing American's name pops up in the address book of a criminal who has turned up dead, Shelley and Dick are drawn into a web of drug smuggling, organized crime, and international espionage, with allies and enemies shifting sides over the course of the investigation. Assassination In Rome (aka Assassinio Made in Italy and Il Segreto del Vestito Rosso) was shot in Italy using a local cast and crew, with Charisse and O'Brian added to give the project greater international box office clout. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Credited in some source books to Lee Kresel, the French-made Prisoner of the Iron Mask was actually directed by Francesco DeFeo. This colorful if occasionally empty-headed swashbuckler concerns an evil count, who imprisons the patriot (Michael Lemoine) who bears proof of the count's perfidy. Few of the elements of the Alexandre Dumas novel The Iron Mask surface in this film, chiefly because it is based not on The Iron Mask but on another Dumas work, Ten Years After. Nor do D'Artagnan or the Three Musketeers make their anticipated appearances in this film. Rarely seen today, The Prisoner of the Iron Mask enjoyed its widest American exposure during the Color TV "boom" of the mid-1960s. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

According to the Greeks, the Minotaur was a legendary half-man, half-bull who lived on Crete and demanded the sacrifice of humans, according to the scripters of this typical Italian costume drama, the real story is about twin sisters (both played by Rosanna Schiaffino), one evil and one pure-hearted. This story has the Minotaur as a secondary figure, all bull, who stands up on his hind legs to indicate his god-like status. The real hero is Theseus (Bob Mathias) who ultimately kills the Minotaur (for the Greeks, too) because he has fallen in love with the good sister and has to save her from being sacrificed. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide
