This kung-fu/action film is of more than usual interest because the leading character, who was portrayed as an ordinary citizen fed-up with official inaction against crime, was unacceptable to the Hong Kong Government; they had extra footage added to the film to show that he was an undercover cop all along. The filmmaker got around this by dropping the curtain on these last few minutes of the picture. In the story, Hong Kong restaurateur Boss Cheng is a sort of one-man justice squad, taking on all sorts of bad guys before they can harm his community. When he is injured in a fight with an ex-con, the community rallies to help him, for he has become a local hero. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide

Don't look for Moe, Larry and Curly (nor even Shemp or Joe Besser) in The Italian-Chinese The Three Stooges vs. the Wonder Woman. The terrible trio in this film is played by Yueh Hua, Nick Jordan and Mark Hannibal. These "stooges" are slapstick-prone warriors who do battle against an Amazonian high priestess (May May Wong) and her buxom followers. Not only is the title misleading, but so are the production credits: the "Al Bradley" listed as director is really Alfonso Brescia. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Spaghetti meets chop-suey in the Italian/Spanish/Hong Kong production Blood Money. Lee VanCleef plays an adventurer in search of a treasure buried somewhere in the orient. The clues are tattooed on the backs of four lovely young ladies. This translates to lots of exposed epidermis, not to mention a surplus of blood-and-gore. VanCleef emerges from the confusion with his reputation intact, but most of the supporting actors were never heard from again. Blood Money was produced by Sir Run Run Shaw, Hong Kong's leading purveyor of box-office bonanzas. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
