Hogan and his crew hope to redirect a German rocket to their contacts in England so that the missile can be examined and duplicated. Unfortunately, Hogan finds himself up against two dilemmas: How to get the rocket into Stalag 13 and how to deal with mercurial Russian spy Marya (Nita Talbot), who is now the wife of German rocket designer Dr. Otto von Borneman (Henry Corden). Like so many other episodes of Hogan's Heroes, this one was written by Richard M. Powell. "The Kamikazes Are Coming" first aired on February 21, 1971. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Schultz becomes temporary Kommandant when Klink is called to active duty. Depending upon Schultz's ineptitude, Hogan works up a plan to smuggle an Underground courier and a cache of uranium out of Stalag 13. Unfortunately, Schultz's newfound power goes to his head (where there's plenty of room), and he morphs into a minor-league dictator. Written by Laurence Marks, "Kommandant Schultz" originally aired on November 1, 1970. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Set in the immediate post-Civil War era, The McMasters stars Brock Peters as a black Union soldier who finds he must figuratively fight the war all over again. Returning to his southern hometown, Peters quickly learns that nothing has really changed: he is a "free"man in name only. Peters' ex-master Burl Ives magnanimously gives the former slave a plot of land, but only Native-American David Carradine and his tribesmen are willing to work for a black man. The "invasion" of Indians serves to stir up the racial divisiveness even farther, thanks to local rabble-rouser Jack Palance. The McMasters was originally released in two versions with two different endings, succinctly summing up the film's "no easy answers" stance. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Major Strauss (Joseph Ruskin) of the Gestapo takes charge of Stalag 13 and ships Klink and Schultz off to the Russian front. Hogan devises an elaborate masquerade, contingent upon Newkirk's gift for celebrity impressions. Bruce Kirby, the father of film star Bruno Kirby, appears as Otto Baum, while Martin Kosleck, who played Josef Goebbels in many an American propaganda film during WWII, is here cast as General Mueller. Written by Laurence Marks, "The Gestapo Takeover" first aired on October 25, 1970. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Written by Laurence Marks, "The Gasoline War" made its first CBS network appearance on October 17, 1969. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Three high school teachers find themselves terrorized by a crazed young thug in this taut exploitation thriller. The trouble begins after the innocent trio embark upon a pleasant afternoon at Dodger Stadium. En route their car breaks down and they are stranded at an apparently abandoned gas station. Unfortunately, a psycho punk and his dim-witted partner appear and capture them. If there is one thing the punk hates it's teachers and when he finds out the occupation of his hostages, the blood begins to flow. The scenes of violence and torture are particularly well-done and realistic. The film is also titled Profile of Terror and The Sadist. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

If you want to truly be scared out of your socks, we strongly recommend the hellishly horrific low-budgeter Profile of Terror. Arch Hall Jr., heretofore the colorless star of such cheapies as Wild Guitar and Eegah!, is disturbingly convincing as a sadistic thrill killer. When three schoolteachers (Richard Alden, Marilyn Manning and Don Russell), en route to an LA Dodgers game, pull up at a deserted gas station, they are held captive by Hall and his wacko girlfriend Helen Hovey. Harboring a psychotic hatred of teachers, Hall gleefully torments his prisoners, killing Russell while the latter is on his knees, begging for his life. Every time we think that this film can't get any more agonizing, the insanely giggling Hall pulls off yet another outrage. By the time Hall faces his well-deserved demise, you'll be hard pressed not to jump out of your chair and scream "Get him! GET HIM!!!" Stunningly photographed by Vilmos Zsigmond, Profile of Terror may well be the greatest exploitation flick ever made (and we're taking into consideration Night of the Living Dead). The film is better known by its original title, The Sadist. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

In the late nineteenth century, Inspector Gannon (Robert Ryan) is a member of the Northwest Mounted Police (forerunners of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police) sent to give a message to the leaders of the Sioux Indian nation. Chased by the U.S. cavalry, the Indians have entered Canada in the wake of the Custer massacre at Little Bighorn. Gannon and his crew assure the Indians there will be no trouble as long as they remain peaceful. American ranchers stage a raid across the border under the guise of rescuing a caucasian woman and kill many Indians. This leads to an inevitable uprising that Gannon must control. ~ Dan Pavlides, All Movie Guide

Along with a bit of their sister's freckle cream (a necessary ingredient), the boys accomplish their transformation. Now Dad has a lot more to worry about. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

Hollywood films about the Revolutionary War almost invariably lost money at the box office, and The Howards of Virginia was no exception, despite the presence of Cary Grant in the lead. Most of the story takes place in the colonial capital city of Williamsburg, Virginia, where Matt Howard (Cary Grant) dedicates himself to the causes of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Remaining faithfully at Matt's side through his early years as a frontiersman and on into his life among the "landed gentry" is his wife Jane Peyton Howard (Martha Scott), the sister of unregenerate royalist Fleetwood Peyton (Cedric Hardwicke).

Most of the high points of the Revolution are herein recreated, including the Stamp Act riots, the Boston Tea Party, and Patrick Henry's "Give me Liberty" speech. Curiously, however, director Frank Lloyd stages these scenes in a flat, near-throwaway fashion; even the inflammatory Henry (Richard Gaines) is hampered by unimaginative camera angles. Other historical personages parading through the film include Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, played respectively by Richard Carlson and George Houston. Though it's rather rough sledding in its feature-length version, The Howards of Virginia plays quite well in the half-hour abridgement prepared by Columbia for schoolroom showings. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
