As the girls of Lambda sorority make their way towards the finals at this year's national stepping championships, dedicated team captain Destiny (Faune Chambers) attempts to keep her team focused on victory despite attempts by her scheming rival Pam (Angell Conwell) to prevent them from taking the top prize. Destiny is the kind of team captain whose enthusiasm is infectious, yet lately her spirits have been slightly dampened by her former friend and current nemesis Pam. Pam is intensely jealous of the Lambda girls' immense talent, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to undermine the team's confidence. As if keeping her team on the path to victory isn't job enough for the perpetually perky Destiny, she's also working overtime to win the heart of her longtime love interest Fabian (Bryce Wilson). Will Destiny endure and astound the judges at the national stepping championships while laying the groundwork for true romance, or will dark cloud Pam prove effective in preventing her old friend from dancing her way to greatness. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

A thirty year old self-made millionaire finds his charmed life suddenly cursed when he loses his fortune and his gold-digging fianceé overnight, and finds himself forced to move back with his family in the 'hood. Trump thought he had it all before discovering just how far he could fall. Now that he's bankrupt, the man who once lived in a mansion prepares to share a cramped living space with his parents and his goofy grandfather. Not only that, but his annoying neighbor Malika is all grown up, and still as contentious as ever. Despite the fact that Trump and Malika can't seem to agree on anything, a tenuous friendship begins to develop between the mismatched pair as Malika does her best to help Trump win back his wayward fiancée. A softball game, a fish fry, a charity bachelor auction, and a fashion show later, the dejected Trump begins to realize that the girl of his dreams may have lived next door all along. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Reggie Rock Bythewood makes his directorial debut with this sharp comedy-drama about love, compromise, and TV. The film opens with the parallel childhoods of Tomasina "Tommy" Crawford (Nicole Ari Parker) and George Washington (Isaiah Washington). Both were utterly shaped by television -- watching Roots was one of the few times that Tommy's parents stopped fighting long enough to sit on the couch together, while George was traumatized by being banned from TV for a month after swiping some church donation cash. As adults, George is a programming executive at the WPX network where fledgling writer Tommy tries to pitch shows. On the strength of both her passion for her craft and her striking good looks, George decides to champion her show called "Just Us," a serio-comedy about a juvenile offender adopted by a judge. They shoot the pilot, the network greenlights the project, and eventually they fall in love. Even though Tommy longs to present her characters in an uncompromised, unvarnished manner, pressure from network execs and advertisers forces her to water down the plot. ~ Jonathan Crow, All Movie Guide

Greene (Anthony Edwards) ponders becoming the EMT medical director on a part-time basis. Benton (Eriq La Salle) worries that his son, Reese, may be hearing-impaired. Elizabeth Corday's father (Paul Freeman) arrives from England, and asks Elizabeth (Alex Kingston) to join his practice back in the old country, while Weaver (Laura Innes) offers the counter-suggestion that Elizabeth start over as an intern to learn American methods. And Carter's (Noah Wyle) first attempt to be the RA in the medical-school dorms isn't all that successful. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Comedian Chris Rock stars in this scattershot satire of rap music in the vein of This Is Spinal Tap. This film within a film begins with A. White (Chris Elliot) screening a rough cut of a documentary he has made of the notorious CB4 rap group -- consisting of group leader Albert, also know as MC Gusto (Chris Rock); Otis, also known as Stab Master Arson (Deezer D); and Euripides, also know as Dead Mike (Allen Payne). White charts the course of CB4's success, their superstar status a result of the fact that they are the only gangsta rap group who are, in fact, actual gangsters, coming direct from rap sheets to rap music. They are considered so bad that they even give rapper Ice-T pause: "I thought I was hardcore. But these guys are serious! What am I supposed to do now?" Unfortunately, at the height of their fame, their gangster pose is revealed to be a sham. Albert, Otis, and Euripides turn out to be a bunch of middle-class blacks striking a gangsta facade to look cool. But now they are in trouble. The real Gusto (Charlie Murphy), a neighborhood thug who went to prison on a drug bust, has broken out of jail and is coming for CB4. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

A famous actress moonlights as a prostitute on the streets of L.A. and has to contend with clientele, her father, and the consequences of her double identity when a hotel owner finds out who she is. ~ Kristie Hassen, All Movie Guide

Off on a hunting trip, these two city-slicker hunters encounter a sure-'nuff version of the Hatfields and the McCoys who are making moonshine and taking pot shots at one another. When they realize that these guys are for real, our hunters learn they'd better wake up to the ways of the woodsmen if they plan on ever seeing their city streets again. ~ All Movie Guide

Native American George Longbow (Bernie White), a member of the Algonquin tribe, shows up in Cabot Cove bearing a seemingly authentic land grant which states that Longbow owns the entire community. One of the locals is displeased by George's presence, threatening dire consequences if the Indian tries to lay claim to Cabot Cove. Shortly thereafter, the angry citizen is found murdered--with an Algonquin lance. An open-and-shut case? Not so far as Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) is concerned. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Wildly disparate characters are not much balance for the lack of action and interaction in this film by director and co-writer Krishna Shah. A series of people go to a drive-in movie theater one night where not a lot happens until the final, inexplicable scene. These movie-goers include a local politician looking for drug dealers, a young couple harassed by bikers, two old biddies dealing in illegal substances right under the nose of the politician (not literally), and another couple in distinct disagreement about sex: what is too little for one is too much for the other. Throw in a prostitute, a dwarf, a few overeaters, a tipsy projectionist, some other characters, and a double-feature horror movie on the screen, and the 89 minutes of running time are filled, terminated by a climax that seems to come out of nowhere. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide
