Directors Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato follow up Party Monster by returning to the documentary form of their most popular film The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Rather than examining evangelists-cum-gay icons, this time the duo takes aim at the cultural phenomenon that is and was Deep Throat, the hardcore porn film that cost 25,000 dollars to make and grossed over 600-million-dollars world-wide, making it the most successful independent film of all time. The impact of the film on the public's perception of pornography is discussed, as is the unlikely relationship the film had to the Watergate scandal. Actress Linda Lovelace who later denounced Deep Throat, claiming she'd been forced to make it at gunpoint, appears in interviews that were shot just before her fatal 2002 car accident. ~ Matthew Tobey, All Movie Guide
Lion parents Theo and Cleo live with their children, Lionel and Leona, in a special library in the PBS series Between the Lions, a program designed to help children learn to read. The library is full of lively characters, some leaping off the pages of books to sing and perform entertaining skits, as the lion family shares its favorite stories. In "Between the Lions: The Lost Rock," a rock rolls out of his book and cannot remember which one it is. With some help from the lions, he find his way home again. ~ Alice Day, All Movie Guide
Between the Lions is an award-winning PBS series, aimed at children ages four to seven, that features a family of reading lions and employs puppets, animation, and live action. In this episode, a rambunctious ram abandons his book and wreaks havoc by butting everyone and everything in the library. Winner of an Outstanding Achievement in Children's Programming award from the Television Critics Association, Between the Lions has also been endorsed by the National Educators Association (NEA), the nation's largest teachers organization. Designed to introduce kids to the world of literature and to encourage learning as a fun activity, Between the Lions deals with a family of lions -- Theo and Cleo and their cubs, Lionel and Leona -- who live in and run a library that's populated by an eclectic menagerie of characters. Each episode centers on a book or other piece of written material that the lions and their friends discover in the library. ~ Steve Blackburn, All Movie Guide
This PBS series, Between the Lions, uses an appealing family of lions -- Theo, Cleo, Lionel, and Leona -- to help children learn to read. The family lives in a library where characters can move right off the pages, vowels can sing, and words come to life. The lessons are brief, full of humor, and delivered by colorful characters of the animated, human, and puppet variety. Reading skills are reinforced with skits and songs. In this episode, "Between the Lions: Little Big Mouse," the lions' friend, Click the Mouse, gets jealous after learning the story line of Aesop's fable, The Lion and the Mouse. ~ Alice Day, All Movie Guide
By expanding upon the lessons presented in Standard Deviants: Sociology Part 1, this video teaches the viewer several basic concepts of sociology. The lessons were written by university professors and the student is shown examples of Orshansky's Model, social mobility, Goffman's Dramaturgical View of the Self and Differential Association Theory. Though the presentation may be too quick for some, the information is equivalent to what a first year sociology student would encounter in the classroom. ~ Ed Atkinson, All Movie Guide
As part of the Standard Deviants teaching video series, this video is intended to help the viewer understand the basic concepts of college level sociology. Using lessons written by university professors, the viewer is taught the following concepts: sociological perspective, symbolic interactionism, role strain, Confilct Theory and the work of Auguste Comte and Harriet Martineau. The information given is essentially a condensed version of what a first year sociology student would encounter during their first semester. For those that enjoy the format and the fast pace of the presentation, Standard Deviants: Sociology Part 2 offers more lessons on the subject in the same manner. ~ Ed Atkinson, All Movie Guide

Using a combination of historical fact, deliberately anachronistic one-liners, and beautifully designed forced perpective sets, Shelley Duvall herein serves up another sparkling 50 minutes in her Tall Tales cable series. Michael York plays an arrogant, publicity-seeking Ponce de Leon, who journeys into the wilds of 16th century Florida in search of the titular fountain. Sally Kellerman and Paul Rodriguez lend their comic expertise to this tongue-in-cheek rehash of the venerable legend. Best of all: Dr. Ruth Westheimer, offering advice to De Leon's suddenly "rejuvenated" soldiers. In recent years, the strictly G-rated Ponce de Leon and the Fountain of Youth has become a fixture of the Disney cable channel. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Basically an updated take on "Bringing Up Baby," this screwy French comedy centers on the travails of a paleontologist (Gerard Depardieu) whose delight at finding the skeleton of the first French woman is dampened by the presence of an aggressive advertising executive (Sigourney Weaver) who is determined to exploit the find to sell her perfume. Both of the rivals also compete to earn a generous grant from an aging philanthropist (Dr.Ruth Westheimer). ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
