Stars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith return along with director Michael Bay and producer Jerry Bruckheimer for this sequel to the 1995 sleeper hit Bad Boys, the film that sparked the careers of both actors, as well as Bay. Once again, Lawrence and Smith play hotshot, wisecracking Miami narcotics officers Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey. This time around, Burnett and Lowrey have been assigned to head up a task force to investigate the illegal trafficking of ecstasy into the city. They discover that an underground gang war has been instigated by drug kingpin Johnny Tapia (Jordi Molla). In order to cut off the flow of the designer drug, they have to take down Tapia. Unfortunately, there's a wrench thrown into the gears in the form of Burnett's sister Syd, whom Lowrey takes a liking to and begins a relationship with. Tensions rise between the partners, threatening both their friendship and the investigation and putting Syd in harm's way. Also returning from the first film are Joe Pantoliano as Captain Howard, Theresa Randle as Burnett's wife Theresa, and former-NBA star John Salley as 'Hacker' Fletcher. Among the supporting players new to this entry in the series are Peter Stormare and musician, spoken-word artist, and sometimes-actor Henry Rollins. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi

Esteemed stage actor George Arliss became the screen's unlikeliest star at the ripe age of 53 in 1921. But the odd-looking, very mature Arliss had a rare talent and charisma, and younger, more attractive stars had to work extra hard to make their presence known next to him. In this drama, which was based on a play that came from a Gouveneur Morris story, he even portrays a romantic figure. John Arden (Arliss) is a highly respected musician who marries the much-younger Marjorie Blaine (Ann Forrest). He gives a private concert, and anarchists toss a bomb at a couple of the guests, who happen to be royal family members. The explosion renders Arden deaf, but he learns to lip read, which enables him to discover what others are saying. The words he reads coming out of a friend's mouth lead him to believe that he is a burden to his wife. He resolves to commit suicide, but Carter (Ivan Simpson), the family retainer, distracts him by urging him to look out the window. With the help of binoculars, Arden discovers some people talking and discerns that they are far worse off than he is. He decides to devote himself to helping others, but still he believes that Marjorie has stuck by him purely out of duty. Finally he realizes that she actually loves him very deeply, and a fall brings him back his hearing. ~ Janiss Garza, Rovi

This picture was a mediocre adaptation of the Booth Tarkington novel (which was filmed previously in 1916). Joe Louden (Thomas Meighan) is an outcast in the small town of Canaan, and is especially disliked by Judge Pike (Louis Hendricks). There is one inhabitant, however, who is fond of Joe -- the pretty but poor Ariel Tabor (Doris Kenyon). But she inherits some money and goes to Paris with her father (Malcolm Bradley). While she is gone, Joe's brother (Cyril Ring) is involved in a scandal, and Joe takes the blame. He then leaves for Chicago to study law, but when he returns, he keeps to himself and his clientele consists of the raunchy characters living in Beaver Beach. But Joe finally lands a controversial case which makes his reputation while ruining Judge Pike's. Ariel, her father having died, returns to Canaan to be reunited with a successful, self-confident Joe. Thomas Meighan was a bit old and urbane to play a small town youth -- in fact, just a few months earlier, he had played a man going through an early mid-life crisis in Conrad In Quest of His Youth. ~ Janiss Garza, Rovi
